Since Janna was born there has not been a single general or presidential election in the Palestinian territories. The last one took place in 2006, which means anyone under 34 years old has never had the opportunity to vote.

Evolution has always been nature's best way to improve lives over millions of years. And it has not stopped with chimpanzees turning to humans. Humans that lived 1000 years back are not the same humans now. We adapt, change, and improve to suit our environment.

Humans, in general, like to record and share a lot of things. From the customs that worked for them, to the meme you laughed at yesterday. We have found books to record biographies and learnings. The problem with the recorded material is, it gets old. And humans are evolving day by day. The mind-boggling thoughts of a human dated 1000 years back might not be even a relatable situation for today's humans.

I'm not suggesting you widely disregard the thoughts of previous generations and build from scratch. No. Those are very important. Use the customs, practices, or books to guide you, and help you in your decision making and I encourage you to take a learned decision from it. That's how it gets better. Those were the words of wise but my dear friend, you are wiser.

Green actions have been taken in Europe and western countries for a long time, but those approaches remained silent in Asia until the pandemic fuels up the market emotion on addressing the global warming and climate change problem. From individual to powerful tycoons, from a country to a world, it is undeniable that everyone is making their own stance on 4 different angles to look on the climate issue:  1. being serious on the matter, determined to pull everyone together making a change; 2. glaring at becoming the lead and a competent player in the market; 3. becoming a follower to stay relevant; 4. being shortsighted on future disaster and stay focus on current lucrative opportunities.

Back to the topic, the peak emotion in the society should not just be a hype, this hot blood should never be cooled, while initiatives and ideas ought to put into practices with patience. There is neither an existing shortcut nor assistance of miracle power, only perseverance and long term efforts will play the role. But sarcastically saying, we are out of time. 

I admit that this pandemic really steered my determination to join the alliance on tackling environment issue, but before this I felt unsecured and unconfident on pursuing the relevant studies in Asia. In Asia, there was a period when green advocates and initiatives stayed stagnant in the market and communities until the pandemic broke the ice. Before that, rarely we heard any market giant genuinely encouraging and investing on the green businesses and development, which naturally brought up the undetectable tendency that majority just put the attention on expanding and growing the market, no matter how did the deteriorating construction on human pride destruct the mother earth and nature. Holistically, as a consequences, majority of the stakeholders lost their rationalities on gaining profits from the market - the origin of humanity and civilization had been forgotten, or even worse, eliminated.

Secondly, the education system requires a big change, this is a heavy, plus pivotal rudder to steer the society fundamentally towards a success future to make a pragmatic and genuine changes - this is the power of empowering the new generations. The potential of young generation is tremendous, we don’t want them to be the innocent scapegoats of the industrial revolution, so we must equip them with certain knowledges and abilities to protect the communities, and thus they may assure themselves a sustainable future.

This topic can jump off from the sky and land the problem back on individual, I won’t assert that we are wrong to benefit ourselves, our family, community, or even nation, but we are the problem. The society teaches us a lot, but also make us lose our consciousness of what is the root and reason to cause us setting off numerous time to fly up high to seek for higher power and authority. All in all, in the end, what can truly give us peace and harmony? Aren’t they the nature and the warmth of humanity?
