— she answers way too fast. like she already rehearsed the lie in her head.
— he shrugs. a lot. “I don’t know.” shrug. “It’s not a big deal.” shrug. “Whatever.” shrug #3.
— she keeps her face really, really still. like if she moves too much the truth might fall out.
— he laughs, but it’s sharp and dry. the kind of laugh that says you’re too close and I hate it.
— she repeats the question you just asked her. classic stalling.
— he talks with his hands suddenly. more than usual. like he’s trying to distract you with movement .
— she looks at your forehead instead of your eyes. like, good job, you missed by an inch.
— he gets defensive. “Why are you even asking me that?” ← not suspicious at all, bro.
— she over-explains. gives way too many details for something that should be simple.
— he fidgets. with a pen. his sleeve. his phone. anything. just to do something that’s not “be honest.”
