I cannot understand how we, as a collective, are not RACING with everything we have to stop global warming at above 1.5 degrees, where we, as a species, as well as so many other species, at least will continue to find habitable conditions to live. Where we will have food to eat and houses to life in and jobs and comfort and so much more. We’re our children will be able to grow old in similar environmental and societal conditions as us, who are so so so privileged if you think about it historically.

Remember how we rightfully said that was bullshit and we would be the generation to end it, that we would be nice to the generation after us?

To forces old and evil, our land now we gave

Pretend they won’t poison the water, and that they might behave

When half a nation, would disavow their grandchildren’s fates

Contempt towards the other, and all for spites sake.

Repercussions of choices, you and I will not face

There are things that when gone, that aren’t simply replaced

Manufactured division, turning each one on the other

Causing us to forget that, we were once united as brothers

When the bond that had held us, has broken in two

When we can’t put ourselves, in the other ones shoe

Petty vengeance and scorn, to watch our countrymen bleed

Our kids future abandon, by our own selfish deeds

Despite endless tomorrows, one day our time it is done

And generations behind us, this world theirs it becomes

I beg their forgiveness, for the condition it’s in

Burdened with crisis, brought by their grandfathers sins

Our views aren’t the same, so we bicker and feud

You yell “drill baby drill”, pumping ever more crude

As I said once before, our fate will be just fine
