Also yes, people talk about stanning villains and/or morally grey characters until the characters do things that make them villains or morally grey, lol. And your point about Kouyou is a good example because— and this is what makes the story good— none of the characters do bad things for the sake of being bad. There’s always complex, twisted, and complicated reasons behind it. Even if it’s not justifiable, which is what makes it wrong, it still creates in depth characters. And yet it’ll still be thrown under the rug for people to go “but why didn’t a character specifically look at the audience and go ‘this is not a good thing to do’?”

uhh headcanon on how akira first met touma?
To be honest, this is something I’m not really sure about myself 😅 Touma seems to portray himself as someone who, even though he would work with others, preferred to remain isolated and is hostile towards those who try to get close to him (unless he approaches them himself). That’s why it was a little surprising to me when he was revealed to be Mahiru’s father 😅 Regardless, even though I’m not sure how their relationship would have went, I have two ideas on how they could have met:
Through Tooru. Since both Tooru and Touma went to the same school, I’m assuming that Tooru would have told Akira about him. For some reason, I can imagine her personally extending the invitation for him to eat with them once and Touma, having grown fed up of Tooru constantly pestering him, decided to give in in hopes of not being bothered anymore. Sadly, it didn’t turn out that way.
At C3. I think Touma probably started off in the combat division together with Tooru, and Akira being part of R&D though I don’t know if she would be developing weapons or researching something else. Even so, she would deliver the weapons for the combat division to test sometimes so he had seen her then and with Tooru a few times or maybe Touma was interested in something she was researching and got caught up with her passionately explaining it to him. Another likely scenario could be through Tsurugi, when Akira finds him around C3 once and later found out that Touma had been taking care of him. She later helps out a little behind Touma’s back, much to the latter’s annoyance though he soon gives up trying to stop her.
