...I more or less gave up on the idea, largely due to my age. But this year I said screw it, and went ahead, even though I'm probably older than Y.T.'s mom by now. Hey, if the 1970s could regularly cast middle-aged adults to play "high schoolers," I can still cosplay as Y.T., right?

Well the 'poon is a complete disaster, and I need to lose more weight. And I put the label of the Liquid Knuckles on the wrong side of the water bottle, so you can't see it when it's hanging on my belt.

The saddest mishap was with my pizza box. At some point during the con, that cool timer screen on top fell off. I haven't found it yet. It was scrap parts, but such perfect scrap...

The Parts:

I collect old electronic scrap that looks cool, mainly cosplays. Many of these are parts from old flip-phones. The BSG pin that I bought somewhere is an Easter egg. I thought about including my Starfleet combadge, but couldn't find it, and it was probably too heavy for this material anyway.

For the coverall, I ordered this blue-and-orange jogging suit off of Temu. I didn't have time to make changes to the suit, so I attempted to hide the "New York" logos under the pins. Turned out that was easier said than done.

The "RadiKS" logo on the back was drawn on with a fabric marker, that sadly left smudges.

For the pizza box, I bought a plastic box from a craft store. Then I went online and picked out a fan-made logo for Uncle Enzo's pizza that I liked, and adjusted the colors digitally to better match the box I'd got. Here's the original image:

Finding the artist to credit them is difficult, as this logo appears on multiple (probably unlicensed) "Snow Crash" shirts and products. The T-shirt I wore was likewise ordered online.

The handcuffs came from the Halloween store.

The sneakers are just my regular work shoes.

The gloves are cycling gloves that I bought for the old version of this cosplay, eleven or twelve years ago. I can't remember where I got them. The Yellow Submarine guitar-pick earring is one of a pair that my sister got me a few birthdays ago. The pop-top earring, I just made quickly by taking a hook off of another earring and wiring a poptop onto it. Alas, I once owned a pair of blue poptop earrings that were perfect for this cosplay. They're lost now.

The Liquid Knuckles are just a water bottle I bought from a 4th of July sale of red, white and blue bottles. The letters are just alphabet stickers. Both from Wallmart. Sadly I didn't pay attention to where I was putting those letters on, and they ended up on the side facing inward when the bottle is hanging from my belt. I plan to buy another set of stickers and put a label on the other side.

The 'poon was the biggest disaster. I found an old nerf gun at Goodwill that had the perfect color scheme. Then I got some blue plastic bowls from the dollar store. It should've come out pretty well. But I was rushed, and relying on duct tape. Luckily I have some extra bowls, so I'll try to redo this with glue or wire this time. The plastic orange chain also came from a thrift shop.

Finally, the goggles were bought at a convention, I forget which one. I didn't make them, but whoever did likely just repainted some swimming goggles.
