I'm kinda concerned because most of my audience in YT are ppl from 13 to 17 years old, but there are others from 25 to fucking 34 people watching my vids 💔

Can I really change a homeless man's life with just kindness?
in case it wasn't clear by our minimal commentary at the moment we're going the fuck through it. physically we are well-adjusted and to some extent mentally we've been shielded from a lot of the worst of this because of how standoffish we get about interactions with creators in general. hell, we're relatively braced for this from our many years in YT fandom seeing similar fallouts when things broke bad.
we also used to mod for Avid, though. (and still mod for Vikingpilot, and are friends with Musithical.) while generally we go to great lengths to avoid having any kind of volunteer-work relation as moderator affect the way we interact with things on Tumblr, there's been shit going on since basically the start of the year that we've had varying degrees of involvement in.
don't know if making a statement would be at all apropos here. we were lied to more directly than the average fan but it broadly pales in comparison to all the other jackshit people have faced in the wake of this. our opinions remain our own and we have done our utmost not to let what we were told affect how we express our opinions here, even before we knew anything about it being lies.
we're constantly in a state of both in the loop and out of the loop and there's no easy way to solve that. the practical first, then: we likely won't be deleting anything we've made; at most there may be some minimal edits and some things might be made unrebloggable. this is a medium we care about enough to risk making it our academic career. anything we have said, anything we have expressed here, we have said with our full experience and belief, never on behalf of someone else.
our DMs are not open in the sense of offering one-to-one support or commiseration. we're a little bit disillusioned with communicating feelings like that privately, to be blunt. but please know that our heart goes out to anyone struggling in the wake of this mess, and that they are not alone, and that no amount of bad actors will change the fundamental value of an entire artform.
be gay, do minecraft, take care of yourselves.
