THE WEEK: day 3
As the alarm goes off I sigh, exhausted from the past events, before rubbing my face and finally get up. My stomach growled with hunger, âwhat would Elio like for breakfast?â I ask myself as I get up and walk to the bathroom. I hum to myself as I wash my face before I go to the kitchen to make Elioâs breakfast.
âIsabel must have already left for workâ I hum as I take a pan and some eggs, I would sip my coffee every now and then while making Elioâs toast and scrambled eggs. Before I could even think about going to wake up Elio he entered the kitchen rubbing his little eyes in tiredness, he hated to wake up early. âI should go to the supermarket on my way home, the fridge is nearly emptyâ I sigh. I chuckled to myself when I saw him âHey buddy, did you sleep well? why donât you go wash your face and get ready while I finish making your breakfast, mh?â I suggested, he just nodded and went to wash his face and get ready. I plated everything and finished my coffee. I left Elio with the food and decided to go get ready myself. As I finished I grabbed my wallet and keys, but as I entered the kitchen I saw Elio hadn't even touched his food, ânot hungry?â I asked confused, I shrug and decided to pack it in case he gets hungry mid day he could have something to eat. âLetâs go Buddyâ I say while holding his hand and walking on our way to his school. Elio was silent all the way, just looking at the floor, careful not to step on any lines, or whatever kids did. I didnât give it too much importance, instead I just kept walking. Finally when Elio entered through the front door of the school, I kept looking, making sure he entered the building. As I finally looked away, ready to start walking to the supermarket, I realized a big amount of the mothers there were looking at me with bad stares, or keeping their kids behind them so I couldnât see them. I just raised an eyebrow confused and rubbed my cheek, was my facial hair so bad that I was scary? I hummed and made a self note of buying razors at the supermarket. The supermarket wasn't far from the school, as I entered I grabbed a little basket and started to look through the shelves to see the products but as I was entering the razors section, I saw it. The dark figure from the night before, looking at me from the final of the hallway where the light of the store couldnât reach, my blood froze. I quickly grabbed the first package of razors and stuffed them in the basket, not caring the price or brand. I moved fast through the shelfs trying to convince myself that there wasnât nothing, but everytime I entered a new section there it was. The most concerning thing was that every time it seemd to be closer, and closer harder to oversee or ignore, as if itâs presence didnât want to be forgotten. I took a shaky breath and forced myself to gather the remaning stuff I needed before rush to the cashier and pay before almost run away from the store, I didnât want to enter again, not for anything in the world. I just wanted to run away from it, I didnât want it to be true.
