President Donald Trump on Monday retweeted a message from a former game show host attacking "Doctors" for "lying," in an apparent reference to Dr. Anthony Fauci.
Trump--in yet another attempt to undermine everyone who has even obliquely implied that his handling of the country’s COVID-19 pandemic has been anything short of perfection--retweeted the following from one of his loyal followers, game-show host Chuck Woolery:
“The most outrageous lies are the ones about Covid 19. Everyone is lying. The CDC, Media, Democrats, our Doctors, not all but most ,that we are told to trust. I think it’s all about the election and keeping the economy from coming back, which is about the election. I’m sick of it.”
Neither Woolery nor Trump has produced any evidence of the CDC or its doctors supposedly lying. Nor has either Woolery or Trump produced any evidence of their own medical training, or any other basis for believing them over the CDC and its doctors. But hey, when Trump says something is a lie, it’s a lie! Just as when Trump says something is true, it’s true!
