Sabine sunk her teeth into the roast meat. It wasn’t great, but it would have to do if they were all stuck here. A few meters away, Shin Hati sat, scowling, chewing on her own half of the creature they were forced to share.
For survival. Or whatever.
“It must be real nice over there,” Sabine said after a minute, voice raised to carry across the space between them.
Shin’s head jerked up and her fingers twitched toward her lightsaber. “What did you say?”
Sabine rolled her eyes. “I said, it must be nice over there. Since you’re over there and I’m here and I really like where I’m sitting so your spot must be primo real estate.”
The dark side users eyebrows furrowed. She got a sense of agitation and annoyance from Sabine through the Force and sat up a little straighter. “I’m not good with sarcasm. If you don’t like me, just say it. I can leave.”
Sabine shrugged. It had been an unfortunate group effort to kill the beast they were currently feasting on and Sabine’s leg still throbbed from a mild injury. “Or you could stay and not sit ten feet away glaring at me,” she muttered, waving the stick of meat toward the other woman.
She went back to eating, trying to think of anything else—the warm sun, meilooruns, a soft Lothkat. With a shuffle, Shin moved closer, sitting just a few feet away, legs crossed. Still glaring though.
“This means nothing,” she said, voice clipped.
Sabine smirked.
