Earth Bit Lab — Iceland Series: Before the Map Ends

Most people see Iceland from the road. The waterfall everyone photographs. The lagoon everyone visits. The glacier everyone stands in front of.

These are not those places.

These are the ones the island kept for itself — the hidden canyon, the steaming valley, the lava cave that glows for no reason, the crater that shouldn't be that color. The Iceland that exists just past the point where most people turn back.

Honestly, I wasn't on Tumblr when the movie came out so I pretty much missed the height of the fandom, which kinda sucks considering how hard it is for me to find the art I wanna see nowadays.

Seriously tho, who's idea was it to make the ship names like that?? I get it, it's really cute, but how tf am I supposed to find any blacksand art nowadays when most of what shows up when I search for it is just pictures taken on beaches with black sand?????? Couldn't we have at least done like the Lego fandom and tacked on "shipping" at the end of the tags? Like "blacksandshipping" or "frostbiteshipping" etc etc for each ship? I'm gonna make it a tag since y'all didn't

Reposting the top two - Spotlight and Beekeeper - with the bottom two - Blacksand and Deadwood - because they were originally supposed to all be posted together! But never got around to finishing Blacksand and Deadwood until now

While it is rather funny considering that he's short and that he wasn't able to be shown on screen with the other four.

I personally headcanon that he chose to look away as he couldn't bare to watch since those nightmares were still created from his dreamsand, they were just corrupted by Pitch.

“I suppose it’s you and me, for now,” he heard him murmur.

As the thunder rumbled ominously above them all, he noticed the creature flinch and bray nervously. With a touch of Pitch’s slender hand across its snout, it began to calm. 

“You’ll learn to love it, the fear,” The Sandman heard Pitch chuckle softly. “...Or you won’t. Who knows? You are the first in a while.”

Drip.

“I thought I learned to, then the fear stopped loving me.”

Drip. Drip.

The Sandman braved a further peek around the trunk. It was then he saw The Boogeyman’s eyes closed, heavy and tired. He did not notice him, while the tiny, frail nightmare did. It seemed to recognize him, its little eyes becoming big.

Drip. Drip. Drip. @rotg-hope-week (No Speeddraw for this one) You don't need a life update from me explaining why this is just a sketch and a drabble, but regardless of my output I enjoyed participating for the first time. I am actually looking forward participating to future tumblr events >:)
