well you're getting it anyway

it's the typical inkberry toxicity ofc - while they're at gardenview bendy and sprout have a Thing that is very Not Good but neither of them are really willing to stop

except now, sprout gets pregnant

and that puts shit in perspective for him

just dandy like in the dlg au, he's immediately in love with this kid. he can't stomach not keeping them. but he also knows that things can't continue on as they have been - for this kids sake

so he tells bendy, and gives him a choice: either step up, or step down. what they have is over

of course bendy chooses to run. it's bendy ffs. it tears sprout apart, but at least he knows he's doing the right thing for this child... right..?

but then, something interesting happens: boris finds out. bendy cant hide something like this from him forever, especially not when they're stuck in a relatively confined space like this

and he is FURIOUS

he thinks that this changes everything, that bendy needs to step up for this kid, that they have more family now and it's callous to abandon them. bendy isn't willing to throw away his chance to live because of this, and says as much, pointing out that boris is the one who pushed him to search for the machine, but boris maintains that it's different now that they have more family

eventually, to bendy's dismay, boris decides he's going to stay behind to help sprout and his unborn niece/nephew. it's not an EASY choice, but he can't stomach leaving them alone - and part of him hopes that this will knock some sense into bendy

for sprouts part, he's completely shocked. he's barely spoken with boris and now he's staying behind for him? no, not for him - for his kid. that's... easier to stomach. sweet, even.

it results in an odd dynamic between the two of them

sprout doesn't like being taken care of, and boris' entire reason for being there is to take care of him. it causes some tension at the start, but boris is damn stubborn and sprout is miserable, so eventually, boris wins out and gets sprout to let him take care of him

naturally, the two get closer, through both forced proximity and mutual love for the kid. they are very similar people, so they naturally have plenty in common

It is boiled over low heat and allowed to simmer for about 15 minutes else the gum might dissolve.
