These medication polls have brought something to my attention though! Given that I simply googled “list of medications” and took the first result and searched for names that sounded like MtG cards to me (blame drugs.com not me), I have had the thought that it would be fun to do this with the actual names of drugs instead of brand names! However I’m burnt out on the drug names thing myself at the moment (working on other silly polls that tickle my fancy) so I thought hey! Why not do some outsourcing! So if YOU know some drug names that sound like MtG cards/wizards/tolkien elves/etc, send them my way! If I get enough, I’ll make another poll!
Send them here in the tags or replies to this post! If you would like to be anon, please specify in the ask that this is what you’re suggesting, not an actual MtG card for the smash or pass

I would find it so funny if we randomly meet a wizard with a name cloak of a proper noun that doesn't have another meaning (i.e. isn't already a word in English).
Sonder may be the closest we've gotten so far. It's a recently-coined word (at least in English) so potentially might not count yet as a word with a meaning outside of just being a name for this story (though I would not put it past Brennan to have heard of this word and use it for its other meaning).
Anyway, I'm hanging out for the day we meet a new character and
Hi guys! I have a list of magic names for you. I'm trying to stick to small, approachable lists so this is a shorter one. In the future I'll make lists about specific kinds of magic (healing, curses, divination, etc) Thanks :-)
2-5 syllables is the sweet spot for naming your wizard if you want it to seem serious. 1 syllable is like Chad or Mike seems jokey not right for a serious wizard. 6-7 is like Talphadelonameous and everyone is suddenly calling your wizard Talph and your back to 1 syllable territory. But 2-5 you've got your Gandalf, your Merlin, Your Zatanna, your Prospero, your Fujimoto, ideally you want a name that is gonna either be said in its entirety or will be shortened to two syllables. The less shortanable the better. Commands respect.
