WHAT IS IT?

the act of removing unwanted energies from a person/place/object.

Cleansing is generally a gentle form of removal, (as opposed to Banishing, read more about that HERE)

Instead of forcefully ejecting an influence or spirit, you simply remove the bonds that hold the energy in place and transmute that energy into something neutral.

WHY TO DO IT

This process is useful for ensuring that you, or the things near you are clear of energies that could negatively impact you.

It’s useful for creating a blank slate in your environment or preparing tools for spell work and keeping your energy stable and healthy.

WHEN TO DO IT

Many witches like to cleanse their homes regularly, as well as cleansing new objects being brought into the home. Cleansing has a plethora of uses and is one of the foundational skills every witch should possess.

TYPES OF CLEANSING.

SOUND

An easy and somewhat quick spell I came up with when my pendulum was getting finicky.

Ingredients

A cup/bowl big enough for your pendulum

Salt

A crystal (I recommend clear quartz)

Hot water

Directions

Pour water into cup/bowl

Place crystal into the water

Shake a little salt into the water

(Optional) Hold pendulum in hands and charge with your intent (”May you be freed of bad energy and be able to answer questions”)

HOW IT WORKS

Sharp, sudden sounds—often metallic ones—vibrate on a frequency beyond what our ears can detect, compelling the objects and atmosphere to resonate in harmony and neutralize the energy in a space.

METHODS

you don’t need to splurge on expensive instruments to cleanse your home. You can use pretty much anything that makes a noise, even if it’s just your hands.

If you just have your hands, you can clap

look at what you have. Try experimenting with different household items and see which type of sound resonates the most with you

STEPS

Head to the room or place object you want to ~cleanse~ close to the sound source (and open the windows so the negative vibes can clear out).

Then make your noise! Start in the center of the room, then move to each corner. It’s important to listen to the tone of the sounds you create. The duller the noise, the denser and more clogged up that area is.

You may need to make the sound several times before you notice the tone becoming higher, clearer, and cleaner.

EFFECTS

Over time, as you use sound tools more often, you’ll develop a feel for the kind of sound that chases out the negative energy. But most importantly, when you next enter the room, you’ll notice a lighter and purer quality to the air. Or to the object

✨How to perform an egg cleanse✨

Light the candle

Run the egg all over your body from head to feet saying any prayer of your choice, Imagining all the negativity being absorbed into the egg

Break the egg into the water leave it for 5 minutes and get ready to read the results (DO NOT LOOK OVER THE TOP OF THE GLASS AS YOU CAN ABSORB WHAT WAS JUST REMOVED)

When finished add salt to neutralize any negative energy and flush it down toilet

The best time to do an egg cleansing is on a Sunday or a Monday. This will help you to start the week with lots of strength. You can also do it at the beginning of a month or a new year.

The cleansing can be performed at any time of the day.

You can do the cleansing at any lunar phase, but the best time to do it is when the moon is waning.

You can do the cleansing in any room you want but ensure that the room has a window to remove any negative energy.

Ensure that you have all the ingredients necessary before doing a cleansing.

🔮Some basic interpretations🔮

If the water smells bad or you can see blood, this is a work of evil operating signal.

If there are small spots of blood in the water, this is a sign of bad luck and a damage caused by a strong witchcraft work, especially if the water is cloudy.

If the water becomes cloudy without odor and blood, this is a sign of loss of the soul or energy, provided there is no blood present.

If the egg yolk has the shape of a face, this is a sign of an enemy. A slender face indicates a male enemy, a round face indicates a female enemy.

If the yolk takes the form of an eye, this is a sign of the evil eye.

If there are small bubbles in the water, this is a sign that the negative energy was absorbed by guardian spirits.

When you break the egg and the yolk comes out with bubbles surrounding it or shooting upwards, it is a sign that the negative energy around you is too much, meaning you are very tired. When you see a figure that looks like an animal or a person in the yolk, you should be concerned. If it is a person, the interpretation of this image is that he or she is envious of you. If it is an animal or object, you must recall if you have dreamt of it or if it is a problem in your life at the moment.

When you break the egg and you see pointy images in the shape of needles or nails, this means that there are people who have cast black magic spells on you, meaning they do not want you to succeed.

Hey there, this is such a great question! Sometimes we’re not able to use certain tools to help us focus our intent, and that’s totally okay! This is a post I have in the work but in the mean time, some really good on the fly cleansing techniques other than smoke or bells that I find work really for me is first would be sound/Music. Music is such a lovely cleansing tool, from singing to a simple drum beat, it’s been used for eons to help create a sacred space, the vibrations from our instruments or voice permeate objects and people and even places!

I think the second most helpful technique would be touch, holding objects and allowing our energy to flow into them over them and around them can help these objects be cleansed! I usually do this with crystals i buy from the store before bringing them home🥰 I simply hold the object softly and gently, allowing that energy to flow into it and push out all negative or unwanted attachments

Another great one I find super helpful would be light. Moon light and sun light are magnificent celestial beings and their light has wonderful cleansing properties! If you’d like to bring this aspect inside you could make moon water and with a paint brush and the water draw a line around the borders of the rooms or your sacred space to cleanse and protect it!
