do you know that meme “people are shipping us; where?!”
imagine before winter and jacin become official, people start shipping the beautiful ambassador with the bodyguard that never seems to leave her side. they’re touchy, close, and always engage in whispered side conversation. the people are like “huh, they’re kind of cute.” at least, the ones that aren’t in love with winter. everyone wants her for themselves, i get it, she’s canonically the most beautiful person ever. but damn she loves to be near that one guard who’s also attractive. oh, and he’s also applying to med school… interesting.
so, winter and jacin hear about this and gies:
jacin: people are shipping is
winter: to where?!
and jacin has to explain shipping to winter. he knows from cress. i like the idea of people speculating about the two, and they’re just giggling under a blanket. they never tell people about their love life, but don’t hide it. so outsiders can’t tell. are they friends or something more? i like to think the first time a reporter tries to question this, it goes like this:
reporter: do you have anything to say about your alleged relationship with your bodyguard, jacin clay
winter: ? what is there to say?
reporter: are you two harboring a secret romantic relationship?
winter: there’s nothing secret about it. we’ve been dating for a couple months now
and everyone is like “what”. looking back, it was obvious, just never officially confirmed. then jacin leaves to become a doctor, and everyone notices the difference between how she acts with jacin vs other bodyguards. interesting indeed.
I just realized… in The Lunar Chronicles, Cinder, Scarlet, and Cress have all shot their love interest at least once. Like, Cinder shot Kai with a tranq dart when she kidnapped him, Scarlet shot Wolf in the arm to stop him from killing Ran (the first time), and Cress shot off two of Thorne’s fingers to save Cinder. And yet they’re all so cute together 😅

Anyway... here's some jacinter headcanons:
Winter frequently massages Jacin's shoulders while he's studying to be a dr.
Jacin knows how to do Winter's hair properly and he's the only person other than herself and Iko who's allowed to do it.
Whenever they visit a new city, the first thing they do when they have free time, is find the best candy place. Jacin buys Winter wayyyyy too much candy. She passes out from a sugar high when they get back to wherever they're staying. He thinks it's adorable.
Winter likes to sew herself and Jacin matching outfits for balls and other special occasions. It doesn't matter if it's something they've been planning for for a month or it's something completely unexpected. She will have new outfits ready for them by the time they have to leave. Thorne teased Jacin about this once... but never again because that death glare will haunt him until the day he dies.
They are actually the least terrible couple of the rampion crew when it comes to PDA. You'd think it'd be kaider... but no. It's these idiots. The most they do in public is hold hands, hug, or give each other a kiss on the forehead/cheek.

out of all the tlc boys, the guy most likely to go all out for valentines day is jacin. you cannot tell me that this canon expert bouquet maker WONT give his princess gf the most elaborate and beautiful gifts every year bc he knows how much winter loves them.
You’re perfect,” he said, finishing his thought as if she hadn’t interrupted. “I don’t care if you see dead wolves and turn into a living ice sculpture when you’re having a bad day. I don’t care if I have an imprint of your teeth on my shoulder. I don’t care if you’re … fixed.” He spat the word like it tasted bad. “I want you to be safe and happy. That’s all.”
Winter fluttered her lashes at him, and he turned away. “Don’t look at me like that.”
“Jacin?”
He met her gaze again.
Winter scooted closer and linked her arm with his. “You think I’m perfect?”
He didn’t look away. Didn’t look bashful or even nervous. Just stared at her, like she’d asked him if Luna orbited the Earth.
Then he leaned over and brushed a kiss against her forehead. “Just sort of,” he said. “You know. On a good day.”

Here we are at the end of Winter and (maybe) the end of the Jacinter doodle along, with special guest appearance by Ryu. I’ve really enjoyed doodling along with them, I hope my fellow Jacinter shippers have been happy to see some additional content for them. And btw, I accomplished my stated goal of regaining my title of top Jacinter blog on Tumblr, yay! If anyone wants to talk Jacinter with me, my inbox is always open!

Sandwiching Winter’s face in both hands, Jacin forced her gaze up to his. “Hey,” he said, somehow stern and gentle at the same time. “You’re my princess, right? You were always going to be my princess, no matter what you were born, no matter who your dad married.”
Her eyes misted. Reaching up, she folded her fingers over Jacin’s forearms. “And you are always my guard.”
“That’s right.” The faintest touch. His calloused thumb against her temple. Winter’s whole body quivered. “Come on. I’m getting you out of here.”

I have decided this may just be my favorite Jacinter moment. Their relationship is enduring. It’s inevitable. She has always been his princess, was always going to be his princess, will be his princess forever. Everything else is commentary. Cue Mary’s Song. Oh my, my, my.
