White Settlement Church Shooting, 2 Dead, 1 Critical

White Settlement, Texas – At around 9:57 Sunday morning during communion at the West Freeway Church of Christ, a gunman walked up to a server and opened fire. One person died at the scene, one died on the way to the hospital, and one is in critical condition. Church members took the shooter down. One witness stated that the suspect was among those who were killed.

But, it’s OK, because her father used medical marijuana, and we can’t have parents using medical marijuana, right? Right? She’s been “protected” from her daddy using medical marijuana, now and forever. Right?

On Sunday, December 29, 2019, the West Freeway Church of Christ in White Settlement, TX, was under attack by an enraged gunman, who killed two parishioners, but then was killed by the head of the volunteer security team, with one shot to the head.

I speak about this because it still has not left my mind and the wound is still fresh from that day. Although, I was not actually there when it happened, but I live right next door to the church, which is still frightening. 

I do not want to take away from those who were inside at the time of this and I hope they all find closure and healing. My mom did hear a sound around 10:30 or so, but was not sure what it was exactly. This gunman could have easily started this outside and could have ended much worse than what it did. 

I just have never been so close to a situation like this and it hits too close to home that I can’t even begin to process. The video of the shooting is tough to watch, with children in the sanctuary. My thoughts, love, and condolences are with the family and friends of the victims and those part of the church that had to live through this nightmare. 

This post is not for attention, but I have been wanting to say this publicly for some time now. I sincerely hope that church members, families, and friends of these victims, once again, find the healing and closure they so desperately need. We will not forget the two that this church lost, and we will always think of Jack Wilson as a hero by stopping the shooter and preventing further loss of life. The entire White Settlement community thanks you for that swift and heroic action.
