Did anyone else think Whijo was acting odd in this episode? They made sure to mention that he ate a lot at Serranos (no shame but thats odd for him as a character), then he made sure to mention doing a lot of crunches in a way that sounded defensive. Also he was willing to get in the middle of the Rebecca drama, something he never did before. This ep was all about people getting involved in other peoples drama to avoid their own issues so like...I think somethings going on with him.
So when I first read this message I was like, meh cuz I didn't really see it that way my first run through, but then I rewound my DVR and actually thought about.
I do find it peculiar the way they talked about what WhiJo was eating; they didn't say he ate there all the time, but he was there that day for "a cheat day." But I have 4 points concerning the subject witch crappy shots of my tv to go with it:
WhiJo has always been conscious of what he was eating, shown to only eat unhealthy food when he was in turmoil. For example, eating fries when he and Darryl broke up. But here he straight up ate the oil which is not healthy at all. So it could be insight to make us viewer peeps feel concerned and think something was wrong with him. (Also, sidenote, Darryl's dialogue is confusing me a bit in that it seems like he's suggesting WhiJo ate the oily napkin, but I'm pretty sure he ate the cheese?)
Contrastly, Greg just opened Serrano's. They could be showing that the food there is hella good under the pretense that even fitness guy Josh Wilson is willing to eat it.
It could also be a pun considering Pizza Bianco is a pizza with white sauce and he is White Josh. And WhiJo saying to call him Josh Bianco is basically saying to call him White Josh, cuz in Italian the adjective comes after the noun, so the literal translation of Josh Bianco is White Josh.
As per the crutches question, I do think that point was a little irrelevant? It was also the only real thing said in the entire scene, ending with him saying he had an idea. A fact that could've been casually said at the end, with Greg or whomever saying "WhiJo had this idea that—" and yadda-yadda-yadda. But they focused in directly with him talking about crutches and Josh's 'i do crutches too.'
This comes after he mentioned the tv again and doing his crunches while watching TV.
So tbh I I'm going to throw this in the wind with a colum (bulletlist) of my own
I think maybe WhiJo is broke, lost his job, or the gym is closing.
He's eating unhealthy which we've seen only happens when he's upset.
He said he let his cable and Netflix lapse.
He's meddling in Rebecca drama (like you said).
He told Greg him and Rebecca we're good, which he has been against forever.
They showed him mentioning crunches three times unnecessarily.
So either shit happened off screen that he's grown up or he's down in the dumps about something.
