CLAUDE: What do you mean the annulment isn't going to happen?

LUC NARCISSE: It's my father. He refuses to lie, now having seen us together.

LEITH: If the lord chancellor is fighting the annulment, the odds are heavily stacked against it.

LUC NARCISSE: Now with Charles missing...

CLAUDE: And unwell, I've heard. We don't have the king's support. All right, then, we'll run away together. We could live a simple life - together forever.

LEITH: Claude, you're a princess. Living as a commoner with nothing to your name? It's harder than you think.

LUC NARCISSE: Running away is the last thing you should do. And if you're captured, you could be charged with infidelity and shipped straight to the nunnery that your sister was so intent to place you in.

CLAUDE: That's a risk I'm willing to take.

LUC NARCISSE: And what about Leith? Are you willing to risk seeing him imprisoned, or worse, for his part in your abduction?

CLAUDE: I hadn't thought of that.

LUC NARCISSE: But I've thought of an alternative that will keep you both safe and together.
