Assuming this is all after the flojami break up™. The Idea that Floyd lurks for traits in other partners which resemble Jamil in some way is funny, they match Jamil's appearance? They match Jamil's personality? They match SOMETHING about him. You'd just assume Floyd has a type, but nah, he's looking to fill the missing gap inside that was left after Jamil is no longer part of his life.

Floyd had Jamil, but now he doesn't anymore. It was expected, he shouldn't be surprised as he saw it coming. He can now just go back to how things were before he and Jamil got together, it should be easy, but it isn't.

After the break up, you'd think Floyd would just decide dating and romance is boring and not for him, he tried it once and it didn't work out, that should be it. But why didn't anyone warn him that breaking up a relationship would HURT so damn much, he was just broken up with, it's not like he and Jamil can't continue being friends, they can still be a part of each others lives, just not the way Floyd wants to.

If he can't have Jamil, then getting into a new relationship might help him take his mind off him, except Floyd unintentionally dates people who remind him of Jamil. Like a shark to the smell of blood, he can't help but feel attracted to him, instead of dating someone new helping him forget about Jamil, it makes him feel worse by having his new partner look almost exactly like Jamil.

Not only is Floyd suffering because every day he looks at his partner, all he sees is Jamil, which upsets him knowing this person isn't him, meanwhile his partner with the unknown knowledge they're a replacement for Floyd's ex, are doing their best to keep Floyd happy, not knowing their appearance alone is the reason he's upset so often.

A little note my friend wanted me to add as well: what if Floyd in his way to cope, tries to "turn" his partner into Jamil. Buying them gifts Jamil would like, cooking them food Jamil likes, buying them red hoodies, like Jamil's. Yet all his efforts accomplish him nothing, it only makes him feel worse, no matter how much he tries, they aren't Jamil, he can't make them into him nor does he want them to be him.
