#western set

Remember these card frames? They were part of a survey WotC did for showcase treatment. I can see a hints of the third one in the design of the 'Breaking News' showcase treatment for OTJ. I like the first one as its a reference to old western movie posters and western comic book covers. It'd be nice to see the second one in a Secret Lair.

Psst... "Boom or Bust" is a definite Western trope. You either make it in the gold boom/oil boom or you go bust and bankrupt. It's only been printed in Planar Chaos and Time Spiral Remastered but you could always slip into a Thunder Junction commander deck.

Yes, I need these two to work together to make a trading company on Thunder Junction. That or they need to be rivals complete with stage robberies. I just need them both to be on the plane.

I wonder if we'll see this card reprinted in OTJ? It's perfect for a western set. If not, I hope we see some kind of reference to armadillos, even if it's a creature with Armadillo in the name but its creature type is Pangolin. Armadillos are cool little critters.

I wonder if she even survived the Phyrexian Invasion, though.

A nice little spell to get rid of any pesky tokens or small armies. Definitely a western trope. That flavor text is on point.

Magic the Gathering's first creature to be called a Rancher and it's from a Fallout deck instead of the western set that was probably being designed around the same time. I like everything about this card though. I'd sneak into a Thunder Junction deck for sure.

This is a western trope if I ever saw one.
