And their family and friends? Have their own guilt and horror of seeing a loved one turn into one of those dangerous creatures. Lashing out at them. Every time they defend themself from some rat or cat, they have to wonder if it's their rampaging loved one.
And natural non-cursed non-rampaging Weres? Have the guilt of keeping their transformation secret, lest they terrify their loved ones.

Is it true that other nonhumans or human psychics can sense what our form looks like after we p-shift?
Do we have any other abilities after we p-shift fully such as permanent heightened senses? Partial control over when our eyes shift color?
Do you believe in a separate distinct inner animal too? If not, why?
Yes, to an extent. I've heard of psychics and some sensitive people picking up on people's weresides after they shift, but its usually a foggy thing - they don't know exactly what you are. Some nonhumans can too, but again it's not always a clear cut thing, and they can be wrong about what they sense. Basically yes, but don't trust it 100%.
After shifting I think you mostly remain the same - you don't gain any new abilities that you didn't have before. So if you didn't have heightened senses or partial eye color control before, you wouldn't have it now.
I think some shifters can have a separate animal side, but if they do it's something different from being a shifter. This is because not all shifters have distinct animal sides, and some seem to do fine without them. Shifters have a duality, but how far this seems to go seems to be a separate thing, if that makes sense.

how does the lycanthropy work? are were's special cases or could anyone affected theoretically shift? are more drastic changes(like extra limbs and complete overhauls of original structure) painful/uncomfortable in some way? do people have to get clothes custom made for their new bodies?
