Wong Yukhei x IDK YOU YET by Alexander 23
for anon ❤️ enjoy bby, I'm so so so sorry for the months of waiting
"Are you alright?" a soft voice speaking to you while a hand landed on your shoulder. You nearly jumped from the pavement where you were sitting, and looked up at the brown haired boy that was staring down at you with genuinely concerned eyes. You nodded
"I'm okay, I'm just a bit... Lost," you chose your words carefully. You couldn't tell for how long were you been sitting there, crying, ignoring the people passing by. You just wanted that pain in your chest to go away, and crying your thoughts out was a very good temporary solution.
"That's not what alright looks like. Do you wanna talk about it? You seem like you do."
Without giving it much thought, you replied:
"I'd use a bit of company, actually, yes."
And you talked to him about everything. Eevrything that pained you all those years, your deepest fears and your secret concerns, things that haunted you all your life, but lately were getting harder. You thought that you knew your life, that you knew yourself, that you were able to handle things, that you were strong. But sometimes it only takes a small push for everything to come crumbling down, and that's exactly what happened with you. And whoever said that it's easier to open up to a stranger that to a close friend, was right.
He stayed there, listening to you, offering you a shoulder to cry on, willing away your tears, soothing your pain, calming your demons. And it felt liberating, redempting.
"...and, at the end of the day, all you need is yourself. So make sure you're okay with you to be okay with life around you."
Those last words really got to you. And you did three one thing that you wouldn't ever imagine yourself doing. You turned and hugged him, tightly against you. You hugged the one stranger that made you feel more home than the people closest to you ever were able to do. You needed him, even though you didn't know him.
"Thank you," you simply told him. "I don't even know your name, but thank you." He smiled, a sincere smile, and nodded.
"I'm Yukhei, and you don't have to. We humans sometimes need someone to talk to more than we can tell."
On your way home, you didn't care that you didn't have him in your life. It didn't matter that you didn't know how he liked his coffee, or where he lived. It didn't matter that you never actually got to meet him. All that mattered was that his brown eyes kept you company, all that mattered was that he was there the night that you needed him the most. And you didn't actually miss him, but you missed the feeling of truly opening your heart to someone for the first time.
You missed the Yukhei that was your uncommon love for the night.
so this is the first one I write in a long time, reviving this series I started during lockdown. it's based on that song and also on an actual breakdown I had some hours ago on a random pavement while returning home. I hope it's okay sharing this with you, I love you all
