Ward smirks at her reaction, although it looks more like a pleased smile from her perspective.

One of her hands tangles in his hair while she wraps her left leg around his waist, the inside of her thigh pressing against scars she doesn’t regret leaving there.

“Grant…come on.”

This is why she likes to be on top. Because when she lets Ward have his way he likes to take his time. She likes slow, it’s not that she doesn’t, but Ward takes slow to a whole new level and it’s currently driving her insane.

“Last time I let you take control you shattered half the equipment in the lab.”

Inadvertently she wants to add, but Ward’s lips press to a spot just below her ear that leaves her breathless once again and unable to argue technicalities. It wasn’t her fault Fitz had forgotten to put the glassware in back in the cabinets.

Her other legs wraps around his waist as well, heels digging into his sides to bring him closer. When her fingers tighten almost painfully in his hair, he decides yields to her, pulling out almost completely before thrusting back in with calculated precision.

“Fuck. Don’t stop.”

He doesn’t. Ward figures he has teased her enough for one night and continues the faster pace as she continues whispering his name along with several more curses.

They don’t last much longer after that, Ward already panting her name by the time Skye shouts his one final time.

He almost collapses on top of her when he finishes but manages to hold himself up, pressing one final kiss to her lips before moving off.

After cleaning up, he joins her on the bed again, pulling her into his arms and kissing the corner of her lips.

Skye looks up at him, basking in the afterglow and smiling softly in a way he hasn’t seen in a long time.

“What?” He asks, fingers twirling absent mindedly in her hair.

“Nothing.” She shakes her head, but her smile only grows with that response.

Ward feels the urge to press the issues, but he doesn’t. Instead, he tugs the sheets over them and tightens his hold on her before he closes his eyes. Skye does the same, moving into a more comfortable position against his side and resting her head against his chest.
