The gym was loud like always gloves thumped against bags, music blasted from someone’s phone, and coaches shouted across the room. Y/N was leaning up against the ropes half-listening to a guy who clearly didn’t know when to stop talking.

At first, she thought it was kind of funny.

He was one of those boxers everyone respected, connected, the type of person that could write her name on the stars. He kept complimenting her footwork, her speed, how natural she looked in the ring at first it was professional then it got… a little much he stood too close kept talking too long.

Y/N laughed awkwardly nodded, shifted her weight, checked her phone. She was trying to hint she needed to leave none of it worked.

across the gym, javon watched everything.

he told himself it was nothing. She was just being nice just being her but the longer it went on the tighter his chest felt. That’s when he realized he was jealous.

By the time they drove back to the Walton house y/n being completely oblivious to the growing tensions.

When they got to his room, the argument started immediately.

“So… what was that?” Javon asked.

Y/N laughed lightly as she put her gym bag down clearly not reading the room. “What was what?”

“That guy,” he said. “You were letting him flirt with you.”

She raised an eyebrow, smiling at first thinking it was a joke. “letting? be serious wanna.”

“I am serious,” he said. “You didn’t say anything.”

She shook her head, still amused by the situation. “wanna… he was just talking.”

But he kept pressing, and her amusement quickly disappeared.

“He was way too comfortable” he said. “And you just stood there.”

Her eyes narrowed. “I stood there because he’s important not because I liked it.”

“It didn’t look like that.”

“Javon,” she said firmly, finally using his full name, voice rising. “You’re acting crazy I was uncomfortable and you’re mad at me for being polite?!”

He froze.

“Yeah, Javon,” she said. “I was trying to get out of the conversation. I didn’t invite it, and you’re acting like it’s my fault!”

Javon didn’t respond. He just stared.

Y/N exhaled sharply, frustrated. “I can’t deal with this right now.” She grabbed her hoodie and stormed out, heading straight to Jayla’s room.

She flopped onto the bed.

Jayla looked up from her phone. “Whoa. What happened?”

Y/N groaned, burying her face in the pillow. “He’s being insane. That guy at the gym, the flirting, and your dumb brother he acts like I wanted it or did something wrong! I was just being polite. I tried to get out of the conversation, but I couldn’t because the guy’s important for my career and he blew up over it!”

jayla blinked, trying not to laugh. “my dumb brother, huh?”

“Exactly!” Y/N said, throwing her hands up. “I can’t even.” crossing her arms.

jayla smirked rolling her eyes. “classic javon overthinking everything.”

Y/N buried her face in the pillow again. “I just… I can’t deal with him sometimes.”

A little while later, there was a knock at the door.

jayla opened it to javon, who looked nervous, fidgeting like he’d been bracing for this conversation. “Can I talk to her?”

Jayla glanced at Y/N, then nodded. “Yeah. I’ll give you two a minute.” She stepped out, meeting Jaden in the hallway. “He’s in trouble,” she whispered.

Inside, Javon stayed near the bed.

“I… messed up,” he admitted quietly. “I got jealous. I shouldn’t have snapped at you.”

Y/N crossed her arms back again, still frustrated. “Yeah. You did.”

He swallowed and looked at her. “But… I love you. I just… I needed you to know that.”

Y/N blinked, caught off guard. “You—”

“I know the timing is terrible,” he said quickly. “I’m not asking for anything back. I just… needed you to hear it. Even if I messed up.”

She looked at him for a long moment. Slowly, she nodded. “Okay. I see you.” ᵃᵛᵃᵗᵃʳ ʳᵉᶠᵉʳᵉⁿᶜᵉ ʷᶦⁿᵏ ʷᶦⁿᵏ

She finally released her arms so he could crawl in.

nothing was fixed instantly the fight was still in the air and the tension hadn’t disappeared. but it felt like they were on the same side again.
