I spent 5 hours at one point just making these little clay sculptures and stuff and since then I’ve completely forgotten about the clay. I used it once and it’s like all interest has been zapped. Is this a hyperfixation or are they generally longer?
That’s not a hyperfixation, no.
A hyperfixation has to last for more than a day, at an absolute minimum. ( Usually, they last for a few weeks, or months. ) If it only lasts for one day, then you were hyperfocusing, instead.

Hey so,,, I’m like 80% sure I have adhd, I hvent got a diagnosis and my mum isn’t super supportive of me wanting to get one. Would it be okay if I got a fidget cube? I feel like it could help in lessons and stuff but I don’t want to get one and seem like someone who just diagnoses themselves with any disorder to seem special? Do you have any advice?
If a fidget cube would help you then get a fidget cube
even if you dont have adhd or are diagnosing yourself to feel special, if in the long term it helps you, then thats more important than gatekeeping
its just a tool to help people and it can help neurotypicals too
and if you think you have adhd then theres nothing wrong with trying out some adhd coping methods
