My GP put me on some antibiotics at the end of last year for my rosacea that caused a flare in my Ulcerative Colitis but made me put on weight rather than loose it (which you usually do when having a flare) despite the fact that I’ve hardly ate anything lately and I’ve been going to the bathroom constantly. 

I went back to the consultant last Tuesday and was told that I had to go for a Colonoscopy (the Friday passed) and for two iron infusion in the next few weeks. It was confirmed that I was having a flare at that point and my consultant has started me on a course of Prednisone steroids for the next nine weeks.

Unfortunately, I will put on weight with these - it’s inevitable. But, hopefully this time it’ll allow my flare to stop and I’ll actually be able to reach a remission period.

But, on the plus side, my mum, sister, best friend and I have registered to do the Crohn’s and Colitis Walk It 10k in Manchester this May and we’ve already raised £40 for it! I’m really excited to do it since I wanted to do it last year but I was too late to register. 

I’m going to start reposting stuff again because even though I’m going to put on weight, I’m going to start watching what I eat (because apparently my appetite is going to go crazy) and start working out much more in preparation for the event. There will be hard days and days where I won’t be able to do much since I’m still very ill, but I’m going to try my hardest.
