So I just realize that my friend and I never posted this collab because we had a fuck ton of stuff going on. It’s been finish for at least two months now, but hey I’m posting it now. 

My friend Erin asked me if I would do a collab where we both draw lineart of the others oc and then we colored the persons piece. We also colored on our own piece. It’s just a fun way to compare art styles in coloring. I drew their oc Vrei on the left. Then they drew my oc Jiji. We didn’t plan doing each other’s orc oc it just ended up like lmao. I also wanna bring up that I was using the og au of Vrei is from (where she’s a teen) and my friend was using their recent au of Vrei (Where she’s a older adult). So are color pallets ended up being a little different. 

The takeaway from all this is that my friend and I have similar thoughts on shading. Especially if you look at the Jiji piece. We both shaded in the the same places but they’re using a cel shade style and mine is a more of a gradient shading style. Another note is that I drew my piece (the Vrei piece) thinking about what I would do for shading and my brain went “Make it a dark piece and having the main light be from the magic energy coming from Vrei’s hands, and eye.” and I didn’t say that to Erin because I didn’t wanna direct them on what to do. So that ended up coloring the piece so differently. Honestly happy I did because they’re both really cool for different reasons.
