I bet you donโt think Democrats are doing anything, right?
I mean that thatโs what social media would convince you of .
But Iโm here to say that they are and a lot of it is really impressive, and youโre not hearing about it.
I posted four of those stories this week!๏ฟผ

The Voting Rights Act was never just about โpolitics.โ It was about stopping Black Americans from being systematically locked out of democracy. Literacy tests. Poll taxes. Racial gerrymandering. Intimidation. Violence. The VRA existed because this country has a documented history of changing the rules whenever Black communities gained political power. So when protections are weakened and district maps are redrawn, people have every right to ask: Who benefits? And who loses representation? This conversation is bigger than Democrats vs Republicans. Itโs about power. Access. Representation. And whether communities can meaningfully influence the systems governing their lives. History matters. Context matters. And understanding how voting rights evolved in this country matters too. Stay informed. Stay engaged. And pay attention to whatโs happening at the state level โ because thatโs often where the biggest shifts begin.
It's not fun to watch your country endless shoot itself while it's people cheer it on. But it is motivation to not stop fighting
