funny stort from juvie
so the place I was locked up in for bieng a bad boy was a big compound that had an adult prison, a women's prison and a juvie sort of connected and it's a really big one so a lot of people who got arrested in our area got sent there, and a lot of people I knew had dads in the adult prison, so there was a lot of contraband and drugs to go around, and one time we had a dare program or something like that and they showed us the little addicted bird video I think it's called nuggets and after the presentation I smoked crack

Knock on your window almost didn’t register at first.
It was late. Too late for anyone to be visiting.
You were sitting on your bed, half-distracted with homework, when you heard it again — softer this time. Hesitant.
Your stomach tightened.
You crossed the room and pulled the curtain back.
And your breath left you.
Standing on the small patch of roof outside your window was Robby.
He looked thinner.
Colder.
Different.
For a second, you just stared at each other through the glass.
You hadn’t even known he was out.
You pushed the window up immediately. “Robby?”
He didn’t say anything right away. Just climbed in carefully, like he wasn’t sure he was allowed to take up space.
Once inside, he stood there awkwardly.
Like he didn’t know what to do with himself.
“You’re—” your voice caught. “You’re out?”
“Yeah.” His tone was flat. Controlled. “Got out earlier.”
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
He looked down at the floor. “Didn’t think it mattered.”
That hurt.
You stepped closer anyway. “Of course it matters.”
He shrugged, jaw tightening. “I’m fine.”
He said it automatically. Like a reflex.
But he wouldn’t meet your eyes.
You studied him — the way his shoulders were stiff, how his hands were slightly shaking like he was trying to hold it together.
“Robby,” you said softly.
His composure cracked just a little at the sound of your voice.
“I didn’t know where else to go,” he admitted, barely above a whisper.
Your heart broke.
You didn’t hesitate.
You wrapped your arms around him.
For half a second, he stayed rigid.
Independent. Guarded. Like he’d built walls around himself and didn’t know how to lower them.
Then he exhaled.
And collapsed into you.
His arms came around your waist so tightly it almost knocked the air out of you.
He buried his face into your shoulder like he was afraid if he looked up, you’d disappear.
You felt the slight tremble in his breathing.
“You’re okay,” you whispered, running your hand up his back slowly. “You’re here. I’ve got you.”
He swallowed hard.
“It was…” He stopped. Started again. “It was different in there.”
You didn’t push him to explain.
You just held him tighter.
He pulled you even closer — if that was possible — like he was anchoring himself to you.
“I had to be fine,” he said quietly. “Had to act like I didn’t care. Like I didn’t need anyone.”
You pulled back just enough to look at him.
“You don’t have to do that here.”
His eyes were red, but he wasn’t crying. He looked exhausted. Worn down in a way that went deeper than just being tired.
“I don’t wanna be like that with you,” he said.
“Then don’t.”
A shaky breath left him.
“I thought about you every day,” he admitted. “Like… if I just made it through, I could see you again.”
Your throat tightened.
“Robby…”
He pressed his forehead against yours, eyes closing.
“I just needed you,” he whispered.
And that was it.
That was the truth underneath all the independence and stubborn pride.
He needed you.
You cupped his face gently. “You always have me.”
His grip on you tightened again, almost desperate.
“Don’t leave,” he murmured.
Your heart squeezed.
“I’m not going anywhere.”
He shook his head slightly. “Promise.”
“I promise.”
That seemed to steady him.
You guided him to sit on your bed, but he didn’t let go of your hand. Not once.
When you sat down beside him, he immediately pulled you into his chest again — this time slower, intentional.
Like he was choosing to let himself need you.
You ran your fingers through his hair, gentle and repetitive.
After a few minutes, his breathing evened out.
He rested his cheek against the top of your head.
“I hate that I missed everything,” he said quietly. “Felt like the world kept moving without me.”
“It didn’t,” you said. “I was waiting.”
He tightened his arms around you at that.
“You don’t have to be strong all the time,” you murmured.
He let out a small, tired laugh. “Kinda my thing.”
“Not with me.”
There was a long pause.
Then, softer than you’d ever heard him:
“I don’t wanna let you go.”
You smiled gently against his chest. “Then don’t.”
So he didn’t.
He stayed like that — arms wrapped around you, holding you like you were the only steady thing in the world — and for the first time since getting out, he finally let himself feel safe.
Not independent.
Not guarded.
Just Robby.
And yours.
