More than anything else my thoughts on this ship are that I don’t like satosugu and i don’t like that i don’t like it. It looks like fun to have so much variety to choose from. But i just can’t.
If it’s purely from canon my take would be that i cannot find it compelling because of how forced it feels to interpret them as romantic. I definitely think their everything is homoerotic but romantic? No, not really. Their relationship suffers from Gege Ramming It Down Disease. Sometimes it feels like rather than that canon naturally flows to its logical next step, it instead feels like we’re forcefully pushed in that direction.
And these two in particular suffer from it. I just don’t believe that these two are genuinely compatible. It more feels like yknow that weird point in childhood where you become friends with somebody because of proximity rather than chemistry and it fizzles out after you both find better options. But the nostalgic affection is still there. I think thats quite compelling but its not really something i’ve seen explored in fanworks from the few times i’ve dipped my toes in 😕
Fanworks have also soured me on the ship even more because its like the only way they can get these two in a romantic relationship is to either justify Getou’s stupid ass genocide plan and woobify him to the point of being unrecognizable or making Gojou a stupid incompetent simp that gets blamed for stuff that just straight up isnt his fault.
Im sure there are much better fanworks (i’ve read exactly one ☝️ fic i like about em) but the stuff i’ve seen has generally been like that and it has pretty permanently affected my feelings on it.
Another point is the shippers: they are either exceptionally lovely and an absolute delight or just genuine horrid fuckers, but i think this is a somewhat universal truth about shippers. It’s just more true about some fandoms than others.

guts, Olivia Rodrigo. Call it recency bias, but I love it. Total 'no tracks skipped' kind of album, gold tier sophomore album, amazing extended version b-tracks. EYE keep saying, it would have been my whole personality for like a year if it'd come out when I was in the target age range. As it is I just think it fucks.
High Violet, The National. SO many of my faves in a single album! I play it daily in September when it starts to get dark a bit earlier in the evenings and I want to feel sad. Album of all time.
Ladra Di Vento, Giorgia. CANNOT EXPLAIN what she meant to my brain development as a pre-teen but this album was my fave and it still fucks. Amazing voice. Formative crush.
