This is my Valentine’s Day present for @sleepingupsidedown blame them for the suffering

-Lance has everyone’s back

-Even if no one ever really talks to him but Hunk

-Keith goes to Allura or Shiro because god forbid he talks to anyone else

-Allura goes to Coran and Coran goes to Allura

-Shiro only goes to Keith

-Pidge goes to Hunk or Shiro

-Hunk can talk to Pidge, Keith, Lance , and Shay

-Lance well, when it comes to the real important stuff, the homesickness, feeling inferior, a burden, a seventh wheel, Lance has no one

-Lance tries to form close bonds with the others but they never give him the chance, and those that do he doesn’t want to hurt by telling them of how unhappy he is

-Or he feels the horrible tension that seems to constantly be around them so he takes it upon himself to be the comedy relief

-The reason he flirts is because it makes him feel closer to his brother who taught him all those awful pick up lines

-He’s used to being overlooked it happens when you have a big family, it can’t be helped

-So when they finally have a moment to stop and relax Lance isn’t all that bothered that everyone naturally paired off only leaving him alone

-Lance then decides to simply go to his room, have some me time

-When he finally has his mask on he finds that he has tracks down his face mask(HIS VERY EXPENSIVE AND RARE FACEMASK MIND YOU)

- Cursing he realized it was wet with his tears

- He rushed to fix the mask and try to stop his crying but he finds that he can’t

-He can’t stop crying

-He can’t breathe

-He can’t hear the music he put on earlier

-He’s on the floor

-He doesn’t know what’s wrong and yet he remains quiet, rides it out by himself because who can he tell

-So he waits for what feels like forever to be able to breathe again

-Then he just waits for the panic and blind terror to subside

-And when it’s all over he gets up, the timer went off, it’s time to take off the face mask

-He doesn’t want to be alone anymore

-He doesn’t want to be there

-He wants to be in his mama’s arms

-He wants to listens to his siblings trying to make him laugh

-He wants his dad to be making him chocolate caliente

-Hell he just wants someone to talk to

-He just wants someone in the spaceship to have his back for once

-Someone who is genuinely interested to see him or just listen to everything be it good or bad

-He wants too many things that will never come to pass

-So instead he lays back in bed until the next battle because what else is there to do?

-What Lance doesn’t know is that it’s his birthday

-Everyone went and paired up to go prepare the surprise party for Lance the flirt who just happened to be born on Valentine’s Day

-Hunk went to go make the cake with Coran

-Pidge went to find some dank memes

-Allura,Shiro, and Keith went on to decorate the common space

-What Lance doesn’t know is that they all love him and appreciate him

-What Lance doesn’t know is that Keith planned all of this after Hunk let it slip that Lance’s birthday is on Valentine’s Day

-What Lance doesn’t know is that Keith plans to tell him how he feels about him

-WHAT LANCE DOESN’T KNOW is that the reason no one has had time is because they have been busy trying to hunt down the beauty products the know Lance loves or anything that brings him happiness to be honest

-You see Hunk isn’t making an Altean cake, oh no, he managed to find more than half of the ingredients to make Lance’s favorite cake, a tres leches

-Pidge found at least 3 new face mask made by humans for humans

-Allura is giving Lance a book she’s been writing with all the pick up lines Lance has ever directed toward her because she doesn’t know when but at some point it stopped being annoying and it started to be endearing

-Shiro is giving Lance the chance to give himself a nickname that Shiro will use from then on but it must be appropriate

-And Keith….. he has a whole letter were he wrote down all the feelings he knows he won’t be able to ever say to him

-Just hundreds of words stating how much he loves him and how sorry he is for ever forgetting him

-Asking Lance if he will take him, God please allow him to have a special place in his heart

-So Lance doesn’t know that when he is finally feeling as if he can actually maybe function that the others have Hunk going to his door to coax him out of his room

-But when Lance learns about all of it, learns that he’s not alone and the others have his back

-Now his tears are from happiness and a spark of hope that not everything is impossible

-Senior year sucks

-There are so many changes that Keith isn’t ready for

-Starting new again

-Having to share a room with total strangers

-No longer being able to hang out with Hunk or Pidge

-But worse of all no longer being able to spend time with the man that makes his heart skip a beat

-Keith regrets never telling Lance how he feels, especially since he’s been friends with Lance since 3rd grade and developed feelings in 8th grade that have yet to disappear

-But he can’t tell Lance because it’s their last year and who knows if they’re going to the same school in the fall

-When it finally comes to applying they all find out that their number one school is Garrison because let’s face it they’re all interested in astrophysics

-Since they all applied they agree to open all their letters together

-And everyone gets in

-Everyone but the one person Keith really wanted to be there

-You see Lance got waitlisted

-He jokes around and claims he expected it while Hunk looks seconds away from tears

-Because as much as Keith likes to think he’s close with Lance, their friendship has nothing on the sibling like bond Hunk and Lance have

-Pidge is furious, they won’t say it but they are just glaring at the wall because Lance wasn’t accepted when he should have

-Meanwhile, Keith is just shocked, he thought that certainly Lance would be admitted in, now he really can’t tell Lance he likes him

-For a while things are kind of sad but then they get bad

-You see Shiro’s family are rich corporation owners

-So when Shiro is kidnapped it’s not that big of a surprise

-The problem is that the people who have taken Shiro as a captive haven’t asked for a ransom or shown any sign of life after the initial video taunting the family and through the tragedy of it all, Keith decides to save Shiro, but to do that he can’t be distracted by school

-Keith rejects Garrison

-Not even one day later Lance receives a phone call

-Lance and the others accept not knowing that Keith didn’t

-Keith doesn’t tell Lance about his crush on him, or better yet that he loves him

-With time Keith finds Shiro, and although Shiro lost his arm other than that he will be okay

-After celebrating Shiro’s return and the gangs admittance to Garrison(they still don’t know about Keith), Lance corners Keith

-In the sense that Keith had been avoiding him and well, Lance found a way to get Keith alone

-Lance then confesses that he loves Keith probably has for a long time and suddenly Keith can’t help it he just starts laughing hysterically

-Because man isn’t it ironic that the reason he didn’t tell Lance was because of college and the future and now that he isn’t even going to A college he learns that it’s mutual

-By the time Keith regain his composure and gets ready to say yes to Lance and just kiss him Lance is gone

-For days Keith tries to communicate with Lance but he always gets intercepted by Hunk

-At one point Hunk looked straight into Keith’s eyes and told him “Do you know the amount of courage and pep talks it took for Lance to be able to even believe your friendship wouldn’t be ruined by his confession ?!”

-Keith now feels like shit

-He ruined one of the best things in his life because he kept waiting, and when the other got tired of their little game he didn’t respond well

-Keith doesn’t want to give up but he has no idea what he can do to fix it and the next thing he knows the others are getting ready to start school

-Before they leave however, Pidge goes to Keith and tells him of how miserable Lance is and if he’s going to do something he needs to do it soon

-For once they leave, Lance may find it easier to move on

-Keith then rushes to Lance’s house to go apologize and tell him of his feelings only to learn that Lance already left without the others because he didn’t want to be there anymore

-So Keith drives all the way the way to the Garrison, and finds his way to Lance’s dorm room and knocks

-Lance opens the door, he looks awful, his face has broken out, his eyes no longer have the little sparkle, he looks exhausted and sad

-And that’s when Keith loses all ability to speak and just starts crying, Lance not wanting to cause a big scene ushers Keith into his room

-After crying inconsolably for a good 5 minutes, Keith starts to ramble, spilling out all his feelings and confessing one thing after another

-From rejecting the Garrison to loving Lance since he was 13 years old

-By the end he just looks up at Lance and just begs for Lance to give him another chance

-And then the next thing he know Lance is kissing him

—a school year later—- -After everything that happened with the Garrison, Keith decided to go to the local community college for his freshman year and then to transfer to the Garrison

-Keith is accepted the second time as well

-While moving into his new dorm room he finds hands snaking around his hips

-It’s Lance going for a kiss

-Keith is happy that he’s in Garrison with all his friends and the man that makes his heart skip a beat

(Warning it doesn’t fully follow every single detail of sleeping beauty because I haven’t seen the movie in a long time and I don’t really like the whole we met once and now it’s true love thing)

**When Keith was born his parents were very happy to have a baby boy they decided to invite the whole kingdom including the Galra but decided to not invite Haggar as her reputation of being an evil witch was well known

**Lance is a little 3 year old who is weirdly fascinated with this little bundle of joy that is Keith

**Haggar then came in pissed off that she wasn’t invited and so she promised that by Keith’s 16th birthday he would fall in a deep deep sleep that he could only be woken up from with true loves kiss(and then she does the whole evil laugh and then poof disappeared cause magic)

**Allura came up and promises Keith’s parents they could keep him safe and her father and Coran also offered up their services

**Keith’s parents hesitantly agree even though it hurt them to do it

**Keith’s parents give Keith a cat named red so that he never forgets them and how much they love him

**One day when Lance was out exploring he found a little cottage where he could hear a small child laughing

**Whenever Allura or the adults weren’t near, Lance would play with Keith and try to make him laugh

**As soon as Keith was able to walk he would go outside whenever he saw Lance

**Lance would bring his cat Blue with him and Keith would bring out Red so the cats could also have a play date

**Throughout the years Keith and Lance’s friendship became stronger and stronger to the point were Lance started to doubt that he only wanted to be friends with Keith

**Lance and Keith decided that they would finally become friends in public after Keith’s 16th birthday which coincidentally was the same day Keith would go and live with his parents

**On the way to the ball celebrating Keith’s arrival, Keith somehow finds himself estranged from the group

**He then finds a little old lady who needs help carrying her bags, he helps her all the way to her house where she invites him in for a little treat for being so kind

**Keith then goes exploring through the old ladies living room until a certain decoration catches his eye

**A snow globe with two boys playing in the snow

**Right before he collapse he realizes it’s him and Lance

**Haggar grabs Keith and makes her way to the castle to demonstrate that even after all their efforts they became overconfident and that’s why they in the end failed

**Everyone is heartbroken by the turn of events which is only made worse when Haggar forces them to evacuate the castle

**Lance came in late because he wanted to give Keith a while to socialize and revel in the fact that so many people care about him, only to find the castle empty and Keith laying motionless in what seemed like an open casket

**Haggar then confronted Lance and told him that if Lance kissed Keith and woke him up she would spare their lives and leave them be (as long as she got invited to future events) and if he failed to wake Keith up he would fall under the same curse as Keith

**Lance then hesitantly kissed the man he loved hoping against hope it would wake him

**Just as Lance was giving up hope Keith started to kiss him back

**Haggar leaves the two be (because honestly this was simply to teach a lesson)

*Lance has always had Keith’s name on his wrist since he can remember

*When he meets Keith and introduces himself Keith doesn’t react

*Lance heartbroken tries to get his attention by starting a one sided rivalry

*Lance starts hiding his soul mark

*They become Paladins and at this point Lance doesn’t care they are soul mates

*Everyone knows not to ask as to why he hides his soulmark(which is a rare thing)

*Everyone has a pretty good idea about the situation even though Lance has never showed them his soulmark

*If Keith doesn’t care then why should he?

*Unbeknownst to him Keith is developing a crush on him but he finds Lance slightly distant and is therefor afraid to act on said feelings

*One day the team is going to a lake when Hunk pulls him aside(Hunk is the only person who has seen his soulmark in the castle) *Hunk lets him know that Keith doesn’t know his soulmates name because it’s not visible to him

*Lance is tired of hoping and snaps at Hunk about how cruel it is to try to get him to hope again

*Lance then realized that Hunk is just trying to be a good friend and apologizes

*His mood is not going to get better, so he tells the team he isn’t feeling well and goes back to the castle

*Keith is hella confused because not even 5 minutes ago Lance was excited to go to the lake

*Keith exclaims that he’s going to check on Lance

*Once he arrives he finds Lance on the couch muttering about f*cking hope

*Keith is even more confused and asks what he means *Lance lets out the “manliest” yelp and has a look of terror when he looks at Keith *Keith asks Lance what the hell is happening

*Lance shakily takes off his wrist band and shows him his soulmark

*Keith feels like the air has been taken out of him to think that all this time he had inadvertently been hurting Lance

*Lance takes that as bad news and starts telling Keith he doesn’t have to worry about it and that its ok they can act like it never happened

*Keith is appalled and pissed that Lance thought he wanted to pretend this never happened

* Keith then proceeded to tell him that he knows where his soulmark is but he has never let anyone tell him the name

*The soulmark is on the back of his neck

*Keith then turns around and raises his hair so that Lance can see his neck

*He hears Lance start to cry and he panics and asks what’s wrong

*Lance replies with a kiss

There is a pool on Keith and lance.


****Pidge has all the bets written down and keeps track of the money being placed in the pool (might as well make sure it’s fair). He bets it will happen in 3 weeks and Keith will initiate the kiss.


****Shiro tries to act like he disapproves(can’t slack on being the responsible one) but he loves the pool. He bets Lance will get his head out of his ass in 2 weeks(he mostly knows this is wishful thinking but he can’t help it)


****Hunk may have accidentally started it with Allura by joking around she took him seriously. Hunk originally bet a month and it would be a mutual thing. Allura said that it would take 2 months before Lance realized he didn’t want her and then another 2 until he made a move on the one he actually desired @ Keith.

****Coran is always making the worst bets but he does it for the fun he doesn’t really think it will take them two years or will it? He thinks Kieth will get exasperated with Lance ask what his problem is and assuming Lance doesn’t lie and drag it out they will then get into the relationship.


 ****The mice are the ones that confirm or deny whether it has happened yet or not.
