Can we talk about these pannels for a moment? (Courtesy of @/justdealingwithsomethings)
These pannels talk briefly about the W3's romantic relationships. A lot of Fandral fans do see him as bi/pan, which I 100% agree with, even though these pannels don't confirm that. It does however add standing ground to Volstagg demi, Hogun is Ace and Fandral is some form poly.
The blatant "No." from Hogun after a pannel of thinking time, is what gives us a bit of proof to the Hogun is ace aro headcannon. He thinks about it for a moment. Whether he's thinking about all of the trouble women and or men have caused in Fandral's life and the troubles that Hildegund has caused Volstagg. Hogun could also be thinking about if he had ever been intrested in a lady. Could Hogun be gay? Possibly. I'm leaning ace, because of his aloof, don't touch me personality.
Fandral, whether we like it or not, can be read as either a playboy/womanizer or poly here. He has a lot of lady friends, and it does seem like he genuinely cares for them, more than the idea of having a wife. And no, I don't think Fandral's so shallow that he wouldn’t care about his lady friends. There is a short comic, probably made to make sure a issue was long enough or just as a bonus at the end of a comic where Fandral's is literally Robin Hood and marries Maden Marian. Yes, I take this as cannon because there is another bobus comic where we see Fandral's first meeting with Volstagg, which Fandral's in the Robin Hood comic says he meets Volstagg first. I think Fandral's playboy attitude is due to him being previously married and not wanting to settle down again, too fast.
Volstagg's only issue with being married is, he's heald accountable for some of his behaviors. What brings this conversation up is in previous pannels (which I didn't think to grab), Hildegund is upset with Volstagg for going off on another adventure, leaving her to deal with the 14 kids. I'd be pretty upset if I was being left with 14 kids. I truely think Volstagg only loves Hildegund and loves having kids. He also, like any of us, needs some variety to life. While he wants freedom to do what he wants constantly, he also loves his kis and wife. Unlike Fandral he'd rather have a wife than his freedom...
...the point of this? Making these guys a balanced team. A husband who loves his wife, a 'playboy' with lots of lady friends, and someone who isn't interested in anyone.
Problem solving with the W3
These guys work together so well, mainly because of their problem solving skills.
Hogun, is strictly a logical person. Problems are not solved with emotions in Hogun's world. Even if the problem is emotion based. Someone broke your heart? The obvious solution is to find something to occupy your mind. Train more, socialize with other people, make them envious.... if you're petty. Hogun is not the person to go to when matters of the heart are concerned. If you're having an issue with a problem, like this thing isn't working or there are 'enemies' at your front door, Hogun can come up with several different ways to fix the problem. And if Hogun can't get the device working again, Sif or Stark can. That invasion at your door, all attack plans require him on the front line. Even if he's just answering the door to get rid of a sales person. Hogun is the best for this.
Fandral, is the middle ground of the group. What's the quote now... 'Jack of all trades master of none is better than a master of one.' You will get solid advice out of Fandral. The issue with him, is well, he can be gendered with his response. A masculine presenting person with heart break, he will give you flirting advice and inform you of where you went wrong with said person. Feminine presenting, he will help you with what might have made you unattractive to the person, assuming they left you. Typically, Fandral will just say that they're a jerk, regardless of who left who and then flirt with you. Feel free to smack him for that. Logical problems luckily arent gendered and it's 100% because he's not the greatest at logical issues with technology. Fandral's the take the thing apart and attempt to rebuild it person; don't take this advice, force him to redirect. Working with another person that knows the basics of how something works, he can help you find the problem. He's same when it comes to 'invaders at the door' as Hogun, though he can be convinced to just stand behind you when you answer the door.
Volstagg is who you go to when you're heart broken. I have no idea how long he's been married.... I can estimate at least 24 years assuming all 14 of his kids are stare stepped. Having a wife or partner of any kind, makes you look at situations of the heart differently. Someone breaks your heart, he helps you rebuild your self confidence to go back out into the world. When it comes to broken technology or someone at the door.... go else where. Volstagg is the kind of person who will just stand there as the sales person gives there spiel, frozen by social obligation. As for the technology, Volstagg is the kind of person who just puts it aside and gets a new one. He doesn't even bother taking it to Stark or Sif, because it would burden them. Though this habit of 'broken thing gets replaced' actually bothers Sif and Stark a bit and they have to get on to him about it.
Something I've been wondering...
What the hell is the Asgard crew like when tired.
I feel like Hogun doesn't get to the point of tired, unless it's an extreme circumstance. If that does happen, you can't tell by looking at him. He's not the most expressive person (it might he his 'tisum). You will how ever know if you try to talk to him. No more words, he speaks basist now (classic rock joke). It's grunts, groans, and snarls. Volstagg and Fandral can understand it, Fandral to a lesser extent. Hogun is also quicker to anger when tired. So, it's best to just let him exist near you without contact of any kind.
Fandral is more of a ditsy blond when tired. He's clumbsy and will fall asleep when standing. Generally amicable when tired, but will throw a toddler esque tantrum if he's denied sleep for too long. You can hold a some what coherent conversation with him, but don't expect him to remember. Since he is a closet cuddler, expect him to be hanging off of someone, and if it's you and you're smaller, hope he doesn't pass out 'cause he's going to take you with him to the floor.
Volstagg is the king of the power nap. He doesn't get really tired. If there's a moment for him to take a power nap he takes it. There's never really a moment where he gets so tired that his mood and personality change as drastically as everyone else. Typically he just passea out. He's the highest risk for that.
Sif is an angry tired, a cut a man angry tired. Her face shows it too. Unlike Hogun you cannot be aroud her. When Sif says she's tired, you let her sleep. However, she requires the least amount of sleep. Plus, letting her sleep keeps people from being injured or yelled at.
Thor, like Sif is an angry tired. Though, he doesn't get cut a man angry, more toddler temper tantrum tired. Usually these tantrums are followed by him just passing out. While people are not in danger during these sleepy tantrums, objects are. Like Sif, it's best to send him to bed when he says he's tired. Downside is, Thor needs his beauty sleep and will sleep the longest of everyone.
Loki, like Volstagg is used to getting in power naps. If Loki is meditating, it's a power nap. If Loki gets to the point of extreme exhaustion, he just cries himself to sleep. It's typically how he knows it's time for a long sleep. Due to his nature he tends to just stick to three hour naps every few hours. Sadly that only works for so long; especially if he's trying to learn a new spell or using his magic a lot. And like Fandral he'll fall asleep just about anywhere.
Sure enough, the gods of Asgard can't just sit and watch Thor get his ass kicked, and so they disobey Odin and head down to Earth to help their friends.

We are very obviously building to a big all-out throwdown, as we see all the people back on Asgard sneaking into Oden's chamber to see what is going on with Thor and Sif as well.
