âI feel like iâm standing on the edge of .....somethingâ
My head canon is that when a marked person uses void powers, their eyes go glassy black as they are letting the void in to power their abilities. My companion piece to The Outsider gifâd image i did a few days back. no reposting, only reblog thankyou <3
Since my first run through of DQXI, Iâve always had this weird obsession with the Void part of the game. Master Pang said that it was a place where all souls go through before they depart to Yggdrasil. A sort of purgatory for the souls.
The Dundrasil scene from before got me thinking about how there were some rituals to bypass or even shorten the process in how long the souls had to wait. The quest you get from the priest in the Zwaardsrust region also makes me think in how souls get trapped in monster forms until you free them.
With that being said, in the game, the Void is a vast and endless space of darkness. The surroundings mostly likely shaped by the most prominent regrets of the accumulated souls around. (ex Master Pang because as much of a badass as she is, I feel like she regretted being unable to teach the last of Angri-Laâs techniques with evil finally showing his ugly face. And that once Rab and Eleven came around and gave her the chance, that last light that we saw wasnât Solar Flair but the illusion construct of the Field of Disciples fading away from the techniqueâs point of revival.)
The Void is a place where it gives souls a chance to lay their regrets to rest or a safe place to resolve them with the illusions as it did with Master Pang. The Dundrasil scene with the ritual to guide the lost souls also acted with the same catalyst in smoothing out regrets and the like as it was said that people killed by monsters werenât able to move on. But obviously failing on some exceptions (ex King Irwin, when you first interact with him after beating him, his face was that same dark expanse as the Void that lead to the past and meeting the Gloomivore in that same expanse.)
Obviously there are some discrepancies with that because in that scene, it showed that whatever you interacted, you had an actual interaction with the past just like with Chalky. But with the Void being so interconnected with Yggdrasil, it wouldnât be a surprise if someone with the right powers came along to bend spacetime (ex the Luminary.)
Which leads me to make next big obsession. While Yggdrasil represents all of the light and life. The Void is obviously the darkness and the death.
As someone who wholly believes in human faults and not the weapon, darkness is not evil. The dark was never meant to be evil. The age old subject that you see in some anime, games, and cartoons (ex My Little Pony with Luna. (Shutup this actually threw me for a loop in how deep the show got.))
The purpose of the Void is to renew souls and help move on peacefully. If it was for anything nefarious, then Yggdrasil wouldnât allow that kind of evil to be interconnected with her in managing souls. The Void is what true darkness is, a cover, a saftey blanket for the lights that need rest. Just like how winter is a time for the earth to breathe before spring comes and life comes back just a bit better.
And to be honest, all this build up is just me trying to figure out how to incorporate Void powers somehow. That the darkness everyone uses wasnât the real chaotic nature of what the darkness in the Void was. Nothing tainted by emotions like greed or the like.
Tldr: Literally me loring this shit out for Void powers.
Quirk ideas for the void powers in Dishonored? I'm not sure if they could be possible in BNHA because some are supernatural.
Iâve never played Dishonored, so this is all based on whatever I saw on the wiki list of powers. I ignored several since they were more like power-ups (vitality, agility, etc.) and not actual abilities. I also ignored all time-based powers, because, frankly, I donât like them, plus theyâre self-explanatory.
Blink - short range instantaneous travel (remains physical so stopped by obstructions) or teleportation (ignores obstructions). Have to be able to see where youâre going. Only works in a straight line.
Devouring Swarm - summon nearby rats and control them
Possession - uses astral projection to leave your body and enter anotherâs. Body is left empty and vulnerable.
Shadow Kill -Â turn things to ash with a touch. Similar to Shigarakiâs Decay.
Pull -Â minor form of telekinesis. Sounds like what Inko Midoriya has.
Dark Vision -Â x-ray vision (that also lets you see through darkness for better night vision?)
Domino -Â link multiple foes together so they share effects (if one is injured, they all are, but if one gets a power-up, then they all do as well)
Doppelganger - create an illusion of yourself or a solid copy
Mesmerize -Â put people in a hypnotic state. Maybe like a less powerful version of Shinsoâs Brainwash.
Displace -Â instantaneously swap places with another object
Semblance - an illusion to look and sound like another person. Broken once they know itâs an illusion.
Achromic Apeirons
Slivers of the Void Aspect
One of the most ubiquitous Slivers to exist, this solid/liquid/gaseous/plasmic substance makes up a significant part of the Furthest Ring, and thus all of existence. It is, as its name suggests, completely colorless. Such that it is actually invisible to normal senses. Even to touch. The only way to detect the substance is either by having something color it somehow, or through Void attuned senses.
The Apeiron react violently when exposed to even the slightest bit of Certainty, mostly introduced through the Light Antergy, the Apeiron collapse their uncertain nature into other, knowable substances. In nature, this mostly means that the Apeiron transmute themselves into a cloud of random quarks and disperse into the ether. Never to return again. They do occasionally change in concert, allowing random masses of objects to come in and out of existence in the Furthest Ring whenever you blink in there. Itâs very unnerving to witness. Large amounts of Apeiron transmuting spontaneously is usually the preamble for the emergence of a new Session.
Sublimation
Apeirons transmute themselves when introduced to Certainty, they likewise return when all Certainty leaves them. Terrible koans aside, Apeirons are essentially the building blocks of most matter in a Session and the Furthest Ring (and probably the Universes as well, but that's still just conjecturing at this point) and building blocks can come back if the Building is taken down.
As all Timelines of a Session exist simultaneously in the Furthest Ring, Doomed Timelines all come into existence along with any Stable Timelines. As far as things can exist in the Furthest Ring anyway. When Doomed Timelines reach their Game Over point, all matter in the failed Session is slowly converted back into Apeiron. To make âroomâ for âfutureâ Sessions to be created.
Apeirons can also sometimes exist in Void Player Lands. Though that usually means that the Land and/or Session is slowly deleting itself due to some error in construction. So The Player better figures out a way to stop it quickly.
Alchemy
Achromic Apeirons can be alchemized using a combination of any three Void-bound Grist type. It can also be created by inputting Perfectly Generic Objects in an Antergy Sublimator and adding Void Antergy. Just make sure it doesnât collapse its non-existence in its container. Apeirons are some of the hardest substances to contain because of how often it happens.
Items cannot generally incorporate Apeirons into their design, not unless a Void-bound is manning the Alchemizer. Stranger things have happened in Sburb however, so its possible that others can find a way to get in on the action as well.
Items that incorporate Apeirons are usually those that can have semi-stabilized its existence. This results in shapeshifting items that can modify its composition. Certain items can also convert things to and from the Apeiron phase. This is usually the realms of invisibility cloaks, disintegration rays/swords, and transmutation equipment.
Powers
Powers based on Apeirons are quite similar to those items that are made of or manipulate it. They can usually collapse nearby matter into Apeirons, effectively disintegrating them. Others can grab Apeirons out of the void and shape it to their userâs will. Essentially an elemental path to the standard Create/Destroy Nothingness power most void users seem to get these days.

Another concept art wip, but this one I will 100% finish in the future.
âPhantomâ eclipses the sun with his newly awakened powers.
Update: this concept art is finished. Check my latest post below the pinned post.
One thing I hope to make sure to emphasize with Dannyâs new powers is how freaking terrifying they are.
(Forgive my note here. I may be slightly inaccurate on the following info, but Iâm very passionate about this cool space phenomena, itâs one of my favorite things about space.)
Letâs do an example! Black holes. Ironically, the term âvoid powerâ is inaccurate when describing these phenomena because BHs are not void of matter: in fact, they are an incredibly intense amount of matter compacted into a very small area (by comparison), creating an object with a gravitational force so dense and massive that not even light can escape it after a certain point: the event horizon.
Whatâs interesting is that they are formed when large stars die, leaving their cores behind. Depending on the mass of the core, it would collapse under the gravitational force. This forms the singularity, a place of infinitesimal gravity and zero volume. This singularity completely breaks the laws of physics. Even TIME slows down the closer you get to a black hole until it freezes completely at the singularity. But to form one takes stars around 3x the mass of our Sun (or more) to die and leave their cores behind in order to potentially collapse under the gravitational force.
These are the most destructive and terrifying forces of nature in the natural universe that we know of. (Not going into supernatural here hehe.)
So ya got all that? Alrighty!! Now compare a star like thatâŠto a rock.
A rock Danny can hold in his hand.
Imagine him being able to change the rockâs density. To exponentially increase its mass and lower its volume to the point of creating a singularity. To bend that kind of power to his will.
Now imagine he doesnât have to hold any object to be able to create a black hole. He thrusts his hand out at something. Letâs sayâŠa building. A car. A treeâŠ
Or a person.
Namely, their insides. Compressing their matter to that point.
And if they somehow survive that process (canât imagine the sheer amount of pain tho), they still will perish through spaghettification from the inside out.
:)
He can do more than summon black holes, btw.
Hoping to get Page 6 up tomorrowâŠreally hoping.
Also getting new ideas for Dannyâs new powers. Imagine if he canâŠturn himself into a black hole.
Oh ho ho
