We haven’t learnt a lot about this in South Africa and we generally use over the counter drugs such as Vermox (Mebendazole). I’ve been wondering if this is effective for us who are exposed to worms on a daily basis and what other vet students have learnt about deworming in humans. 

My week of exotics placement is done!! I ended up enjoying it a lot more than I thought I would!! There were a tonne of birds (including this barn owl 😱) and that awesome chance to see a wombat IRL. Yesterday was my last day of lectures ever!! 🎉 To celebrate, it is tradition for the class to dress up and decorate the lecture halls. In my five years of vet school so far I have done 49 subjects and written 98 tests and 52 exams!! Now I have just a few more exams left and then I'll be starting with the clinical part of the course working in my vet school's teaching hospital for 18 months.

When you get a super neat line of practice sutures you celebrate 🎉 🐶 Another week of rotations done and dusted! This week was spey week. I got to perform my first solo (but supervised) dog castrate, cat castrate, and a dog spey! (Also a bonus dental). All my surgeries went swimmingly!
