Okay since Iâve been thinking about this for a while actually Iâm gonna share some ideas and theories about the coming ZP miniseries.
Iâve always thought that a series of short stories would be the best format for it, with each one being self-contained. No particular long form plot, just slices of life in a fantasy world.
That said, I have thought of some ideas for episodes that I wouldâve liked to see if it were written that way:
A Spam-centered episode showing what he does when heâs not with his other friends (I like to imagine he has some big weird secret on the level of Ferb being a restaurant critic that none of his friends know about)
An episode thatâs Kayla vs Baltimore drama (or anything that gives Kayla more characterization, she deserves it)
Some kind of retcon for Zillâs backstory (please) or at least a plot point that explains how his powers work
The original five characters participate in some kind of competition and Jack wins because everyone else keeps sabotaging each other
An episode that gives Jill a proper introduction (and/or a flashback episode that explores the relationships between her, Jack, and Damian)
Saharaâs magic does something weird and everyone has to help her try to reverse it
An episode that shows Cameronâs day as she helps various students with their problems (and she has to get creative about it because sheâs not very familiar with Safe Haven and its people yet)
Not an episode idea but. A title sequence. I am begging to see what a ZP title sequence would look like
Now some theories:
Damian doesnât have a crush on Kayla in this iteration of the story (Iâve had this guess ever since he set her piano on fire while she was playing it)
There is no longer any one main character, Cameron is now part of a main cast who are all important
Cameron will develop friendships with each of the original five characters
We will find out more about Vanexaâs aura
Kayla has kind of a de facto leadership role in their friend group
Thereâs a running gag where every time something unfortunate happens, everyone knows that Jack is about to show up
Zillâs tail isnât a separate being, he controls it, usually on instinct (really clinging to this one)
(And if it IS its own character, I would kill for any amount of time seeing from its perspective. A character thatâs attached to someone elseâs spine and canât really make decisions for themselves is SO interesting, why wouldnât you explore that???)
Will probably be using at least some of these in fan fiction because theyâre unlikely to all be correct. But I do really hope that some of them are. So stay tuned!
