as always started my new sketch book with a drawing of Murlough, which I coloured in digitally (disagree with the appearance or not…I fear this appearance is stuck in my head when I imagine him now…)
Hey, there, Georgie girl. Sketches of these two from my Cirque Du Freak AU. Bonus below without the posts/text:
The fact that Steve Leopard ended up manipulating Darius just like Desmond manipulated him when all he’s ever wanted was his father’s acceptance, acknowledgement and love is tragically ironic
My muse is in the toilet so here are some post War of Scars headcanons:
Vancha and Gannen end up being the best dads, and rebuild their relationship because of the children.
Vancha is the fun dad, teaching the kids to howl at the moon and live life to the fullest.
Gannen is the loving yet stern dad, introducing culture and order to their lives.
Evanna has the kids the majority of the time, but once a month, the kids spend seven days with the vampires and seven days with the vampaneze. Every so often, Evanna forces Vancha and Gannen to come to her cave for the weekend to visit the kids together.
Gannen calls his kids “my love” or “my heart”; fatherhood has given him a new confidence and comfort in himself that he never expected.
Fatherhood keeps Vancha from roaming as much; he stays longer at Vampire Mountain and finds himself getting lonely without the kids or his brethren around.
The vampaneze start to create more pack-like groups after the war, finding their nomadic lifestyle less appealing.
Humans (more specifically their technology) will eventually catch on to the vampires and vampaneze (it would be the latter who get noticed first, due to their obvious skin indicator).
The kids will bring together the clans, and together they will all destroy Desmond Tiny.
On that note, let’s hear yours!

A Living Nightmare Once Again - sneak peek
I originally had started my CDF fanfiction series with A Living Nightmare Once Again on fanfiction several years ago, but since then I have been working on Nyx's backstory and with how I'm taking the trajectory of this series, I'm in the process of doing a bit of a redo that'll somewhat match how Nyx grown and her motives. so I deleted it.
For context on this go around, Larten and Nyx had discovered while visiting a friend who works at a morgue that several vampires and vampaneze have been found murdered by the works of vampire hunters, Nyx went off to do her own thing once they ended up at Darren's town - dont' know what to call it so for now it's DT - and discovered two vampanezes - Not gonna say who until I publish the chapters - A Master and an Assistant. She sets off to find the assistant to warn them.
Here's the sneak peek of said story.
Nyx knew what she was about to do was stupid. She knew it was dangerous when a vampire hunter was in town, but this was just as equally stupid.
But she has to draw out the vampaneze assistant. Larten had his reasons for saying no to this but in her gut, she had to do this.
For all of their safety.
She walked around the small town. Finding a good corner to set up shop.
Slinging the case off of her and setting it on the ground. People who were around didn't give her much mind but a few took notice of the girl when she opened the case and pulled out her guitar.
After tuning her strings and doing a couple of practice notes, she began to perform. Playing one of her songs, she sang.
It didn't take long before she began to draw in a crowd with her music. A few stop out of curiosity to who's playing but more and more began to stand around.
Seeing the crowd begin to enjoy her music, she did a walk about her little area. Trying to separate the smells as she looked for the vampaneze assistant.
As she performed, Nyx felt the hairs on her arms and back of her neck standing straight up. An eerily familiar feeling she hadn't felt in many, many years.
A feeling that twisted the pit of her stomach. And it wasn't from their purple skinned counterparts whom she knows was part of the crowd she drew.
Her eyes roamed the crowd, looking for the source. Her search didn't last long as she found one guy staring at her. Wasn't paying much attention to the music like the rest of the crowd but to her.
She recognized Darren Shan, the guy she saved at the grocery store, he's jamming and vibing with the rest of the crowd…
The guy next to him however didn't do that. More built than Darren, dressed in black, light colored hair, his blue eyes were abnormally looking at her.
With a sniff, Nyx shivered. He was human, but he reeked with vampire and vampaneze blood, even though he appeared clean. Not just that, the way he looked at her made her want to break cover and rip his face off and gouge his eyes out so she would never have to see it again.
Cause the way he looked at her - wasn't the typical hunter look as when marking a prey, the way this man…
The way Steve Leopard was looking at Nyx was exactly how Silas Hornsby - the mad vampire who blooded her so long ago - looked at her.
A dark shiver ran down her spine as the killing urge slipped in place. With the books she read still fresh in her mind, she knows one thing.
To protect her loved ones back at the Cirque Du Freak and both clans, Steve Leopard has to die.
One more scan around the crowd and she finally managed to locate the half vampaneze. He was in the far back, still normal looking in a gray hoodie and black pants. Looked like in his mid-twenties with bags underneath his eyes, messy black hair.
She reached out mentally as she got to the bridge of the song. Hey, cousin, don't freak out visibly, talk to me with your thoughts.
A few seconds of him internally freaking out, the assistant responded. H-hello? He asked unsure. How are you…?
No time to explain. As one assistant to another, as calmly as you can, walk away the opposite direction. There's a hunter in this town hunting both of us. You heard of the latest murders?
How do you know the hunter is here? He asked.
Because I'm staring down his creepy ass face right this minute. I'll distract him, get back to your master. This has nothing to do with this stupid beef both clans are going through.
Why help us?
Nyx rolled her eyes. I'm running out of lyrics, he hasn't noticed you yet. We'll talk later, I'll find you two and explain it. Go!
She met with the vampaneze's eyes, motioning her head towards Steve and slightly nodded.
He nodded back towards her before quietly backing away from the crowd and walked away. Nyx kept playing until the purple cub was out of view.
What are ya'll's thoughts of this scene?
Ok, official Word of God update for my crisis last night.
The wife asked Shan on Twitter if Gannen can read, and thank CHRIST the answer seems to be yes!
howEvEr
The implications????
Steve found out half his army can’t read and decided, okay, that is NOT my vibe, and made them all learn via SESAME STREET???
Shan is on some good stuff; my GOD the crack theories are MULTIPLYING LIKE RABBITS in my TRASH BRAIN.
CDF QUESTION OF THE DAY:
What did you think about the inclusion of Bram Stoker as a character in SLC?
