Consider with me for a moment, if you will: When Medic falls ill, Spy ends up overworking /HIMSELF/. He takes care of Medic, gets him anything and everything he needs (and even more, Medic is MISERABLE whenever he's ill and Spy hates seeing him unhappy), and after making sure he's alright for a while, goes and does as much of Medic's work as he possibly can. He doesn't touch anything he doesn't know what to do with (his experiments for example, Spy is no doctor, let alone a MAD doctor, and Medic's notes are practically unreadable thanks to his Fancy Doctor Writing(tm)), he just does all the paperwork, ordering, and back alley dealings himself (he uses his disguise kit for the last two to imitate his voice over the phone and his appearance in person)

Heās just so EXTRA and DEVOTED and loving heās just so Spy that he would do exactly that
I feel like if Medic is ever anything negative (under the weather, stressed, depressed) Spy just naturally does everything himself. It keeps the attention off the good doctor until heās back into the swing of things!
Funnily enough, Spy always does it naturally. He never tells anyone heās doing it, not even Medic. Heās never asked. Spy just,, takes on more work. Itās his natural selflessness. His natural protective tendencies. Maybe, he got it from his mom? How she did everything without being asked, and all with a smile on her face..
Heās just a good man by heart. Sure, heās rough around the edges.. But that heart is pure gold!!
