For the sake of research- may I ask how you view the dynamic of your beloved Medicspy? :3c I’m not too sure on how it goes about but I’m keen to learn-
They are like the Moon and the Sun
Medic is bright and shining full of pride like Icarus, head in the clouds of seemingly endless possibilities and experiments.
Spy is mysterious and shady, elegant yet cold and distant.
Yet Medic... knows a lot of that is surface Level bs and part of his spy facade... he has seen cracks of his more unhinged personality shine through but he's curious to see how much it would he can reveal through poking and prodding- make him break- like making him laugh
Apart of Spy is a little envious of how Medic is able to be much more expressive and unchained by burdens of societal expectations even if that means being manic loon . But Medic does have insecurities and does care about his team- even if that doesn't always show due to him having lower empathy-
Spy sees this. Medic is not a God amongst men but an intelligent man who perhaps is too smart for his own good and is just really lucky.
In a way they actually share a lot of the same insecurities of being human. Of having emotions and flaws, attachments and running away with form their problems.
Medic tends to deal with his mistakes by laughing it off, ignoring it with stubborn pride, or fits of anger and improve. -whoops I broke that bone ahaha I meant to do that. Deflecting from being human and therefore hiding from vulnerabilities
They hate being vulnerable and heavily repress emotions. Spy especially. And while Medic seems genuine yet manic, and is horrible with secrets- but not his own. Chronic lie disease. He is weirdly secretive and Spy is like "game sees game"
And because Medic is his only doctor he gets to learn way more about Spy than most people- and Spy well, a Spy so he knows a lot more about Medic than what he's willing to share - which is a lot considering he loves talking about himself and his stories. So they are forced into this position where they have to keep each other close as they both have dirt on each other. No matter how many tests results Spy has faked - Medic will always find the real answer. No running away or killing him. He finds a way out. That leads to a weird sense of them being equals and vulnerable together yet aware of the other always trying to manipulate.
Medic always Spy to be more willing to be more mischievous, silly and take a break from the facade. Someone to confide with and complain and gossip about the other mercs. Spy allows him have a place of rest and breaks from the others. Spy, while disgusted with Medics experiments, he is actually fascinated by the fact that they work and he is able to keep all of them alive.
They are by the nature of their work, forced to be close but decide to stay due to being curious about how deep do the layers of their masks go. They hate being vulnerable but they are willing to be vulnerable with each other.
