For all the playing off he does, he's fully aware of how shit his situation is and how the people around him who should have cared, put the twins in said situation by being terrible. You, the player, have no illusions about it. Takumi's mother meanwhile seems to not care that her kid was developing a severe complex along with God knows what mental issues, while not-at-all-subtly shipping him with her ideal girl who was the root of said complex, but because of the otherwise normal boring moments in his life Takumi treats it like a Tuesday.
