Peter walked into the briefing room and sat down with the team. Danny had his eyes closed and hands resting on the table with a peaceful expression on his face. Ava sat with her back straight and eyes forward. Luke looked somewhat relaxed, leaning back in his chair a bit. Sam was the one who looked fully relaxed, lounging in his chair. Fury's footsteps were heard before Peter could see him. For some reason, he had this commanding air to him. "Hey Fury, look, I get you asked me to be a part of this team, but-"
Fury piped up before Peter could continue. "That's not why I called you all here." At the curious glances, Fury pulled up a picture. The best way Peter could describe it was deja vu, it showed two people. A woman around Ava's height, in a black suit with white stripes. She had long white hair coming out the top of her cowl in a pony tail she had piercing, almost glowing, jade eyes with a slit for the pupils. She had a small belt with gear on it. No doubt she excelled in stealth. The person next to her was a man who looked an inch or two taller than Peter. He was clad in black armor with a red spider emblem on his chest that looked like Tony Stark's work. The suit itself had four red spider like legs coming out of his back. His mask was black with red lenses and a slim gold outline. "There have been new vigilantes in New York."
With the stunned silence, Peter spoke up. "I didn't know you had fans, Tiger."
Fury turned to them with a stare that could freeze hell itself, and Peter piped down. "Fans or not, they need to be looked into. They've been stopping bank robberies in progress, and while that is good, they've also been seen outside SHIELD bases. They've evaded us at every turn. That's when you come in, we need you to find them and establish contact. We need to know who they are and what their plans are. Dismissed."
Night Tiger revealed herself to the team while they were on patrol running into the light on a nearby rooftop before ducking back into the shadows. The team follows, good, perhaps they'll be able to talk after all. She led them to a warehouse where she promptly vanished in the dark. The team snuck in with quiet bickering floating in the dark atmosphere. Night Tiger stood on the catwalk above them with their backs to her, unaware of her presence.
For once, Sam was quiet. Well, as quiet as he could be. He and Peter argued with harsh whispers. "How did you lose her web-head!?"
Peter snapped his gaze to Sam and replied quietly and sharply. "You're a living lightbulb! How did you lose her?!"
Their bickering was cut off by a silent shadow dropping down and casting a shadow on the young heros. They all turned to look at her, she had on her black suit adorned with white stripes. Her thick white hair swayed behind her, caught in the twilight breeze. Her jade cat-like eyes drilled into their souls. She looked too much like Ava for any of this to be a coincidence. She held herself as composed, back straight, and hands clasped behind her back with her head held high. Almost reminding sam of Fury and how he would hold himself. When she spoke, her voice sounded deep and smooth, yet still gravely. "Let's start with introductions. I am called Night Tiger."
She was cut off by a nova blast from Sam. She dodged and flipped over them to find the man from Fury's picture. He turned to her casually. "Need a hand?"
Night Tiger simply glanced at him and replied with a curious look in her eyes, almost cocky. "No, thank you."
Sam charged at her again, rocketing towards her with unimaginable speed, and she dodged but not before turning and throwing a needle at him that embedded itself into his flesh the moment he turned to look. "OW!" He felt strange after that and floated down to the floor. It was like his body was numb.
Ava ran in and tried to attack her. However, Night Tiger evaded her claws and kicks every time she tried to strike. Night Tiger then grabbed Ava's wrist and threw her at a pile of mattresses where she landed and rolled onto her back. Danny came in with his Iron Fist and tried to stop her. However, that's when something strange happened. She used one of his own moves to throw him over to the side. Luke ran in as well. She used her elbow and slammed it into his chest, and then kicked him back. Peter used his webs to blind her, but she didn't even react to it, and as soon as Peter tried to web her again, she jumped again and grabbed him by the arm enough to restrain him.
"Do you want to talk now or not?" Night Tiger didn't want to spend another second here. They needed to get to the Helicariar. Now.
Peter was still struggling, though he still agreed. "Alright, fine, what do you want?"
Night Tiger answered without hesitation. "We need to talk to Fury."
Peter was a bit shocked by that, ".....why?"
The spider impostor of him walked forward, and the rest of the team immediately tensed. "Look, we want to tell you everything, but we can't do that here." He extended his hand out to Peter. "For now, though, call me Tarantula."
Peter looked at both of them and then at the team on the floor. It was obvious that they could've been easily beaten by them. Maybe honey is better than vinegar. "Alright," he pointed an accusatory finger at Night Tiger. "But you gotta explain what's up with sam."
Night Tiger's expression didn't change. "A small nerve agent, he'll be back to his normal self shortly."
Ava had already called Fury. This was gonna be fun to explain to a guy who looked like he regularly fought the toughest and most versatile villains out there.
Tarantula arrived on the Helicariar with Night Tiger beside him. They walked through the halls of their old base from another world. Saw those familiar jumpsuits the agents walked around in. They finally made it to the bridge and came face to face with this world's Fury. "I think we owe you an explanation." He taped something on his wrist, and the metallic plating for his mask pulled back almost like liquid. "My name is Peter Parker, and this is Ava Ayala." Night Tiger removed her mask as well. Revealing moca skin and white hair with piercing jade eyes replacing Ava's dark chocolate eyes.
Tarantula heard a thud beside him as they both found the team in shock. Sam's jaw was on the floor. Danny was looking extremely worried. Luke was looking between them and Fury. Ava was staring at her hands. Peter lay unconscious after he fainted on the metallic floor of the Helicariar bridge. Fury had that stare that Tarantula remembered so vividly when he would massage one of his temples with his right hand. He couldn't help the small smile that crept up his cheeks.
@eclecticzombiememory I hope you like it!
