and lastly, the sole time it replaces and: “an wwith my empiricists wwand i servve…”

i did not however count erisolsprite, since I don’t really care about him, but after glancing at his dialogue real quick, it appears he too prefers “and” over “an.”

this was noticed during dave’s introduction scene.

in the original novel, dave gives some exposition about himself and does the whole “night guard” routine, but then suddenly after saying all of that, he gives his name.

the way it’s described is like he was so caught up in painting the picture of who his character is, that he almost forgot to mention that this character he’s playing has a name. the pointing too made it seem like he was trying to convince charlie’s friends that his name IS, in fact, “dave”. it makes me think that he improvised a lot of what he said in that scene, because he was playing a character rather than actually saying what’s on his mind. (it could also be because he noticed that it was charlie of all people, but there’s some info that kinda conflicts with him just figuring out that it was her. like him walking in-front of where her and her friends were hiding with deliberately slow footsteps, only to go back like everything was okay.)

in the GN, it all seems rehearsed, like he knew exactly what to say and practiced it several times. mostly get this impression from the way his introduction flows. “i am not an idiot, i know what’s back there” and “anyway, the name’s dave” both said together, and the way he’s drawn too kinda shows this?

no sudden pointing to the name tag, it all looks planned. this may just be because the GN had several stuff cut down, so there was a bit less characterization there for him. but there’s also little differences in the GN too that make me think it may have been a creative choice to make him seem more put together…
