Thinking of opening Commissions!
Ive been thinking about it for a while now but because my school club is being faced with financial problems, I figured this could be a good way to help funnel money to help support my club!
We’re our state’s only Academic Decathlon team and have literally No Funding by our school/district so we’re trying to raise money ourselves!! I’ll have more information later as I get more organized but know that’s where your money is going!! I know some people have been interested in me opening commissions in the past SO! I’ll gladly make some art to help support my club!

Academic Decathlon In Spiderman
The most annoying thing about Spiderman homecoming was the timing of USAD’s National competition in relation to Homecoming. Homecoming is a fall time dance but Nationals happens in late April wtf.
And then!…. the “super quiz” event they were trying to use as the competition was utter bs because superquiz is done on a huge arena floor with electronic buzzers and the questions are shown in a giant screen projector. Also, Superquiz isn’t even the whole Academic Decathlon! Academic Decathlon is mainly test taking and a few public speaking stuff like speech and interview. Then there’s a live audience buzzer section called Superquiz that is only a small fraction of the actual score to determine winners.
Also it was just not realistic because everyone in academic Decathlon knows only Los Angeles County schools win XD
But if i had to tell you my fave part of Spiderman Homecoming it would be that they used USAD 😂😂😂
Okay, the Academic Decathlon announced their topic for the next year, and I have to say, I’m really irritated by it. It’s...Africa. That’s it.
While I’m really happy that kids are going to get a chance to cover something which usually isn’t in school, Africa is the second largest continent in the world, with 54 countries, thousands of languages and indigenous cultures and so much more. Each country has its own rich history and culture. The fact that instead of choosing one country to showcase (as they have in the past: India, China, and Russia in the past decade or so) they elected to make an entire continent it’s broad category and jam it into one instead of choosing to pick a country next year for its geographic category is upsetting at best. Granted, they might acknowledge this within the packets and execute it well, but until I see that, I’m still going to be a little ticked about it.
I’ve competed in Academic Decathlon all four years of my high school career and this is the first time I’m glad to say I’m graduating and leaving it behind me.
