Tell us more about Flauros >:)
So, Little Ari tried to do some drawings for Flauros lore but failed lol, anyways have a wip.
This is Flauros, The Hymn of Heavens, whose aspect is Diligence. And yes, from the house of valor. Now, his name derivates from the demon listed in the grimoires, Flauros(lol), who is a kind of funny guy depicted as an antropomorphic uhh leopard, i choose tiguer because i wanted this guy to be the brother of Taderius, my other angel known as the Lion of Heavens.
So yes, you can guess, Flauros will fall. He was born the next day after Taderius was born, and all hells got deafened by his song. His weapon are his claws,
he also has an 'actual weapon TM', which is his bow/harp :D
You can tell why he was given the title of hymn of the heavens. He would mostly appear in the worst moment, when angels were about to give up, but he was there with his song. His harmony, he just had this amazing feauture, he didnt need to sing, he only had to be there for his song to be heard.
And since day 1, Imperius has been his biggest simp, not because Flauros is hot lol. Because, Flauros had this burning need of destroying hells since he first awoke, like, this was his purpose, he was calm, patient, but very dedicated to the war, and this is something that was found in common with Imperius, this 'burning' need. Otherwise, Imperius would have just respected him, but there was this small connection called Admiration that grew into Affection, but it is admiration cuz angels can't feel love at all, but they can feel it in such different way that is more complex to comprehend.
Flauros took time to know what was happening between him and Imperius, this was very unknown, because he respected Imperius as his superior, not as something else. Eventually they make out, i prommy.
About his dynamic with other angels, Flauros had (has) deep appreciation for Andalon and Idahir, specially the blacksmit. That's his ''Little Idahir", he sees these two as his beloved angels, his children. He also cares for the valor angels a lot, which for most of them can be a bit little awkward when your leader is Imperius, and like, when Flauros is alive, Imperius was very very young so like, this leader was really A MESS. (This is not the Imperius we know, because that Imperius is old and has had time to 'madurate', this is a very young Imperius who doesnt even look that much alike to the D3 model lol)
Flauros was the only angel capable of shutting up Imperius, Flauros still looked for this 'i need to destroy hells' but the way he acted was very gentle, Imperius is very agressive, very impulsive; Flauros was very calm, patient, slow. He also fought a lot with Imperius and like, this would only happen when these 2 were alone, where Imperius just would lose and acept he lost lol.
The way Flauros fell was centuries before Sanctuary being created, Diablo ambushed him, because Hells despised his song, so he got crushed and had three of his limbs almost torn apart, let alone Diablo stomping over Flauros in a very mocking way. Even if Flauros was from the house of valor, he actually fell because in a very simple moment, for some seconds, he felt fear and that broke the balance of his song, his musical notes just crashed and that was enough for him to get destroyed. There is also the little fact, this was foresaw by Itherael, who told Auriel at some point, because Itherael wouldnt say anything given that would just cause Imperius to be like ''I can fix this" and he knew he needed Imperius focussed on something else than saving Flauros, but Itherael at some point can't hide it and words escape his very self being "...and a broken melody in anguish will deafen heavens, and demons will find joy on the broken wings of their enemy...", more like, he was reading the scroll and he forgot to not read a certain part, he knew it had to happen but of course, Imperius isn't stupid.
Either way, Flauros' fate was sealed since day 1, Itherael knew it, but he would never say the damn words, when it comes to war, sometimes you have to sacrifice certain things or friends.
Flauros' brother, Taderius, is very the opposite of him, a more impulsive angel but very dedicated to the point of spending centuries in the war before returning forl ike a week and then going back. Even Flauros can't understand his own brother, he then wonders how is Inarius and Tyrael's brotherhood. Flauros wondered a lot, he had a small friendship with Urzael, because he just wanted some knowledge and trying to find Malthael can be a little tricky. He still had a nice friendship with some of the archangels, he didnt get to meet Auriel completely, but he respects her a lot.
Flauros can also be petty sometimes, in the sense of being just stupid for one second and that happens whenever he's bored, which is rarely, he's very curious too so he's always floating around. He also isn't the calmest guy, just a wolf dressed as a sheep, i mean, he represents the tiguer, he's a hunter. He had tons of demon's prisoners, and who knows what he did to them, he also had some encounters/confrontations with the twins evils, Andariel and Duriel, (he was born the day Andariel attacked so like, yeah), i would say at some point they became friends but that comes from the small scenario where Flauros would be like ''You really, will try fighting me again?" and Andariel is like "Who wouldn't, when you have caused me to feel my own essence", and Duriel is the third wheel in this weird dynamic.
(No, that wasn't flirting, maybe from Andariel, not from Flauros. Flauros only sings for Imperius, in which ways? uh, lets skip to the next page heh) little thought, Andalon ends really caring for Flauros, just because Flauros is very very sweet, and like, young Andalon being a disruptive wave of rage, but just telling Flauros that he really wishes to one day become a liutenant, just like him, just like Izual (this one was still angel during this time!). Or Idahir just worrying over what the fuck he has to do so angels won't die easily when facing demons, because being a blacksmith sometimes feels useless and Flauros just speaks with such calm, not like Imperius who calls you ''Pathetic." and leaves, no, Flauros just knows how to remind the angels what their purpose is. He helped many angels find their aspects, he saved many angels from death and taught them not to fear death. This is how his Diligence worked, very slowly, doing small actions that seemed not necessary but served to a greater purpose, this is how his song would sing. And this is something Imperius actually never gets to understand completley, for him is more like the thrill of the battle, the feeling of a victory, yes, they're winning over hells, but then some conflict in heavens happen and they end losing. Flauros kinda took care of these things while he still was angelic.
Diablo corrupted him, kind inf the same way he did with Verathiel, but more horrible, hanging Flauros like a trophy in the realm of terror, and letting beasts devour his angelic flesh while the essence of terror just penetrated his soul, and even if Flauros wanted to scream he wouldn't. His voice broke, and so his song broke.
The only thing of him that didnt get corrupt, is the gift he received from Imperius, so you know Imperius has 2 suns on his armor, when he actually god a newer armor, more similar to the current design, he asked Idahir to built the same 2 suns for Flauros, is why he also has 2 suns on his chest. This is the only thing terror couldnt take away from Flauros, so even if he's corrupted and now sings for the hells, you can still see these two suns glowing with light.
Very little thought i had one day was that Flauros actually got along with Inarius, and he kind of helped Inarius not fall into desperation, and he also got to meet Izual and the once champions of the archangels in those times. The Liutenants, they would just be like another angiris council but instead, everything is gossiping around lmao. Flauros was able to slap Izual many times because Izual would ask stupid questions, and then mention demons and Flauros is like a mad teacher and slaps lol.
If you wonder what Flauros thinks of Sanctuary, he probably would say something like ''Valor would never get to appreciate this place", he still remembers Imperius. In my own timeline, Flauros actually is seen again in the D3 events, when Diablo attacks the heavens, Imperius sees Flauros again and has to kill him, again, but for a small time he's able to call the real soul of his once lover, back to him, and he just gets to hold him, even though, the realm of terror just slowly calls Flauros back to hells.
They share these small words "Sing for me...once again" "You have...to protect them." doomed yaoi.
Flauros can only be killed by Imperius, and he will always appear again when Imperius is in the battlefield, a small joke Diablo plays on Imperius. And even though, Flauros has remained looking almost the same, while Imperius has slowly grown into the archangel we know, they still love each other a lot. More than heavens can comprehend, because they didnt need to know each other completely to be connected, when Flauros first awoke, his wings entangled with Imperius in the battlefiel; and the same happens with the fallen Flauros, when Imperius is just attacking him, his demonic wings just end entangling with the angelic ones, without having conciousness of it. It's natural.
If you sneak into Valor's chambers, you'll find the Hymn Maker (Ari come with better names, no), the bow/harp that belonged to Flauros. Try touching it, and Valor himself will stab you with Solarion,
Solarion and the Hymn Maker also have a connection, the spear glows brighter near the Hymn Maker, and would become duller when is struck into Flauros' corrupted soul. The Hymn Maker became dull, and lost its colours when Flauros fell, it fell from his hands, but wasnt touched by Terror, its still a sad reminder of how the evil influence can affect certain things and weapons (like Yl'nira in D Immortal).
THIS IS VERY FOR MY OWN CANON, Idahir way of using his hammer is because he remembers how Flauros used the Hymn Maker, lifting it up and throwing it up; Idahir lifts his hammer before hitting, this is just a small connection i did for my own hcs and canon. Andalon wings armor are the ones who were going to be Flauros', Diligence gifted Andalon this armor, (is why Flauros doesnt have something on his back from where his wings come from, you can see them coming out of his body actually!).
Tormaros painted some pictures of Flauros, you can see them hung on the halls of Valor, the biggest one is where the Hymn is slaying both Anguish and Pain.
There is just one painting Imperius has kept for himself, is the one one of his siblings did when by just following the dynamic of Imperius and Flauros by mere curiosity, he just found the two sitting on the gardens of Hope (you can tell which archangel did this). Imperius can be a bitch but he still has his feelings yknow, he just built a shell over himself.
I know so much about Flauros but idk how to place it into words agh, but i tried. Once i have worked more illustrations of him i'll surely come back to this post to talk more about him. Either way, have that drawing A Certain Curious Archangel Did.
"Dream a little of me,
Stars fading but I linger on, dear
Still craving your kiss
I'm longing to linger till dawn dear
Just saying this, yes
Sweet dreams till sunbeams find you
Sweet dreams that leave all worries behind you
But in your dreams, whatever they be
Dream a little dream of me, yes
Dream a little dream of me"
