Gaming Dice.
I learned a lot about edges and light and color relationships here.
Lou Zocchi has died at age 91 (Feb 17, 1935 - Apr 15, 2026).
Lou was the founder of Gamescience, a game designer, publisher, and distributor, and a designer of dice. He also entertained at cons as a magician and ventriloquist. Above:
Lou Zocchi with puppet Woody Knotts.
Some Precision Dice by Gamescience purchased uninked from Lou in person at a game convention. These dice are known for their sharp edges, not having been tumbled as part of an inking and cleaning process. His designs improved the randomness and durability of polyhedral dice at a time when some other brands were visibly irregular or disintegrated quickly.
Some of Lou's dice inventions, the D3, D5, D14, D16, and D24, which came with a sheet of suggested uses and which now are used in games like Dungeon Crawl Classics.
The infamous Zocchihedron, the D100, a spherical die with loose weights inside.
Future Spouse guide through Darakaraka Part 5
The D4 (Chaturthamsa) is the chart of Bhagya (Destiny/Fortune), Fixed Assets (Real Estate), and Sukha (Deep Inner Happiness).
While the D1 shows the marriage, and the D3 shows the teammate, the D4 answers the question: "Does my spouse bring me Luck and Security?"
Darakaraka (DK) in the 12 Houses of D4
The House placement tells you the impact the spouse has on your assets and peace of mind.
DK in the 1st House (Lagna)
The Vibe: The Spouse is the Foundation.
The Impact: Your sense of "Home" is entirely tied to your partner. Where they are, that is your home.
Property: You are likely to buy your first major property only after marriage or in their name.
Happiness: Your personal happiness depends heavily on the spouse's mood. If they are happy, the house is peaceful.
DK in the 2nd House
The Vibe: The Spouse as the Treasurer.
The Impact: The spouse brings assets from their family (inheritance) or is excellent at saving money to buy property.
Property: Indicates accumulating multiple properties over time. The spouse treats real estate as a "bank account."
Happiness: Peace comes from financial security. The spouse will constantly want to "upgrade" the home to increase its value.
DK in the 3rd House
The Vibe: The Spouse as the Mover.
The Impact: The spouse does not like staying in one place for too long. They may want to change houses frequently or renovate constantly.
Property: You might own small properties, vacation homes, or properties that are used for short stays.
Happiness: Peace is found in movement. The spouse may encourage "van life," frequent shifting, or living in a bustling neighborhood.
DK in the 4th House (The Golden Seat)
The Vibe: The Spouse as the Sanctuary.
The Impact: This is the best position for domestic bliss. The spouse loves being at home and makes the home beautiful.
Property: Strong promise of owning a large, comfortable vehicle and a solid house. The spouse is likely the one who designs or decorates it.
Happiness: High. The spouse creates a "protective bubble" around the family.
DK in the 5th House
The Vibe: The Spouse as the Lucky Charm.
The Impact: This is a "Poorva Punya" (Past Life Credit) placement. The spouse brings luck regarding assets.
Property: You might gain property through speculation or luck (e.g., buying in an area that suddenly booms in value).
Happiness: The home atmosphere is creative, fun, and child-centric. The spouse wants a house with space for hobbies/play.
DK in the 6th House
The Vibe: The Spouse as the Fixer (or Debtor).
The Impact: Property ownership comes with struggle. The spouse might push you to take a heavy mortgage (debt) to buy a house.
Property: You might buy a "fixer-upper" that requires constant repairs. There may be legal disputes over land involving the spouse.
Happiness: Domestic peace is often disturbed by bickering or "to-do lists." The spouse expresses love by fixing broken things in the house.
DK in the 7th House
The Vibe: The Spouse as the Equal Owner.
The Impact: Joint ownership is essential here. The spouse wants to be on the deed.
Property: You will likely buy a house that is aesthetically pleasing and socially open (good for hosting guests).
Happiness: The home is a social hub. The spouse invites people over often.
DK in the 8th House
The Vibe: The Spouse as the Secret Keeper.
The Impact: Property comes through inheritance, wills, or sudden transfers. Alternatively, the spouse may hide assets from you or have a secret "stash."
Property: You might live in a house that is secluded, hidden, or has a history (old/haunted/antique).
Happiness: The home atmosphere is intense and private. No one from the outside knows what really happens inside your house.
DK in the 9th House
The Vibe: The Spouse as the Blessing.
The Impact: The spouse brings immense fortune. Living with them expands your horizons.
Property: You may own a very large house, a house near a temple/church, or a property in a distant, prestigious location.
Happiness: The home has a spiritual or academic atmosphere.
DK in the 10th House
The Vibe: The Spouse as the Status Symbol.
The Impact: The house is not for relaxing; it is for "showing off" or working.
Property: You might live in government quarters, a high-rise city apartment, or a house that serves as a home office.
Happiness: Satisfaction comes from people admiring your house. The spouse treats the home as a headquarters.
DK in the 11th House
The Vibe: The Spouse as the Investor.
The Impact: The spouse views property purely as an investment. They want rental income.
Property: You may own multiple properties that generate cash flow. The spouse is friends with real estate agents or developers.
Happiness: Happiness = Liquid Cash. The spouse is happy as long as the assets are growing.
DK in the 12th House
The Vibe: The Spouse as the Foreigner/Renunciate.
The Impact: Strong indication of living abroad or far away from your birthplace after marriage.
Property: You may struggle to keep a property (selling it off) or you invest in properties in foreign lands.
Happiness: The spouse needs isolation. They may want a home that is completely cut off from the city (retreat style).
Darakaraka (DK) in the 12 Signs of D4
The Sign placement tells you the "Flavor," Location, and Style of the assets/home the spouse brings.
Fire Signs (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius)
The Style: "The Palace."
Location: High ground, hilltops, city centers, or places with lots of sunlight. East-facing properties.
The House: The spouse wants a house that stands out. It might be painted in bright colors or have a grand entrance.
The Conflict: The spouse might overheat the home environment (literally or metaphorically). They dislike dark, damp, or basement living.
Earth Signs (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn)
The Style: "The Fortress."
Location: Valleys, flat plains, agricultural land, or busy commercial streets. South-facing or West-facing.
The House: The spouse wants durability. Brick, stone, and heavy furniture. They likely want a garden or a backyard to grow things.
The Stability: This is the best element for long-term property retention. The spouse will never want to sell the family home.
Air Signs (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius)
The Style: "The Penthouse."
Location: High-rise buildings, windy areas, corners of streets, or busy market hubs. West-facing.
The House: The spouse wants ventilation, large windows, and open concepts. They hate clutter. They prefer modern, minimalist designs over antique/heavy styles.
The Fluctuation: The spouse might want to rearrange the furniture constantly or move houses often to get "fresh air."
Water Signs (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces)
The Style: "The Sanctuary."
Location: Near water bodies (lakes, rivers, ocean), dead-end streets, or secluded, quiet neighborhoods. North-facing.
The House: The spouse treats the home as an emotional womb. It might be older, have a basement, or be filled with soft furnishings and memories/photos.
The Risk: Issues with plumbing, leakage, or dampness are common. The spouse is emotionally attached to the structure itself and may refuse to move even if the house is crumbling.
Special Note on D4 Deities
D4 has specific deities that rule each angle. If your DK falls into the amsa (division) of:
Sanak: The spouse brings wisdom but may not be attached to material luxury.
Sananda: The spouse brings pure happiness and joy through property.
Sanat Kumar: The spouse brings youthfulness and energy to the home.
Sanatan: The spouse brings ancient/traditional values and stable, long-lasting wealth.
This is the "Secret Sauce" of the D4 chart. The Deities of the D4 are the Four Kumaras (the four mind-born sons of Brahma). They represent the state of mind and the source of happiness that your spouse brings into your life.
To find out which Deity your Darakaraka (DK) falls under, you just need the Degree of the planet in your D1 (Main Birth Chart) and the Sign it is in (Odd or Even).
If your DK is in an ODD Sign
(Aries, Gemini, Leo, Libra, Sagittarius, Aquarius) Degrees in D1 Chart and its Deity 0 degree 00' - 7 degrees 30' Sanaka Wisdom / Detachment 7 degrees 30' - 15 degrees 00' Sananda Joy / Bliss 15 degrees 00' - 22 degrees 30' Sanat Kumara Youth / Vitality 22 degrees 30' - 30 degrees 00' Sanatana Eternity / Stability
If your DK is in an EVEN Sign
(Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn, Pisces)
The order is REVERSED. Degrees in D1 Chart and its Deity 0 degree 00' - 7 degrees 30' Sanatana Eternity / Stability 7 degrees 30' - 15 degrees 00'
Sanat Kumara Youth / Vitality
22 degrees 30' - 30 degrees 00'
Sanaka Wisdom / Detachment
The Meaning of the Deities (Spouse Analysis)
Once you know the Deity, here is what it reveals about your Darakaraka (Spouse) regarding Fortune, Property, and Happiness.
1. SANAKA (The Ascetic)
The Vibe: Wisdom over Wealth.
The Spouse: Your spouse is likely intellectual, spiritual, or philosophical. They are not obsessed with material flashiness.
Property Approach:
They might be indifferent to luxury. They are happy living in a simple place as long as it has good vibes or a library.
They may encourage you to donate money or property to charity.
Negative Manifestation: If afflicted, the spouse might show a lack of interest in maintaining the home (ascetic nature), leading to a bare or neglected house.
Key Takeaway: The spouse brings Peace, not necessarily Palaces.
2. SANANDA (The Joyful)
The Vibe: Pure Bliss & Comfort.
The Spouse: This is arguably the best placement for domestic happiness. The spouse is genuinely happy and wants you to be happy.
Property Approach:
They want a beautiful, comfortable home. They are the ones who buy soft cushions, mood lighting, and ensure the fridge is full.
Living with them feels like a vacation.
Negative Manifestation: They might overspend on luxury or decor to maintain that "blissful" feeling.
Key Takeaway: The spouse brings Luxury and Contentment.
3. SANAT KUMARA (The Youthful)
The Vibe: Energy, Change, & Modernity.
The Spouse: Your spouse has a "Prince/Princess" energy. They are active, restless, and always want something new.
Property Approach:
They prefer Modern Architecture. They hate old, dusty, antique houses.
They might want to renovate constantly or move houses frequently (flipping properties).
They view the home as a place of activity, parties, gyms, gaming rooms.
Negative Manifestation: They can be impulsive with assets. They might buy a property on a whim without checking the foundation.
Key Takeaway: The spouse brings Excitement and Modern Assets.
4. SANATANA (The Eternal)1
The Vibe: Tradition, Stability, & Roots.
The Spouse: Your spouse is an "Old Soul." They value heritage, lineage, and long-term security.
Property Approach:
They want a "Forever Home." They are likely to buy land or a solid house and never sell it.
They are attracted to Old/Heritage Properties or living with extended family.
They are excellent at accumulating wealth slowly and steadily. They don't take risks.
Key Takeaway: The spouse brings Security and Generational Wealth.
Example Application
Let's take Venus in Aquarius (Odd Sign).
Scenario A: Your Venus is at 4 degrees = Sanaka.
Result: Your spouse is wise, maybe a bit detached. They won't care if you have a Ferrari or a Toyota; they care if you are a good person. The home will be simple but intellectual.
Scenario B: Your Venus is at 12 degrees = Sananda.
Result: Your spouse loves comfort. They will make sure your home is the best-smelling, softest, most relaxing place on earth.
Scenario C: Your Venus is at 28 degrees = Sanatana.
Result: Your spouse wants a legacy. They will push you to buy a house that you can pass down to your grandchildren.
Thank you!
