It was like a terrible nightmare that she couldn’t wake up from. One moment she was casting her patronus to get rid of the dementor sucking away at Molly, and the next she was surrounded by at least five. Their faceless veils opened like black holes as each one whipped around her taking whatever she had saved up. She could tell she was no longer standing, but rather down on her knees trying so hard to hold on to any happy thought whether it be real or not. Lucy didn’t even feel the sting from landing so hard on them...all she felt was empty. Her brothers no loner wanted to be apart of her life because she was “different”. Her parents disowned her because she didn’t return back to the muggle world to get a regular muggle job. Augustus and Poppy were no longer speaking to her because she had tried too hard to get them back together. No longer was she a strong and able bodied young woman. Right now she was a tall and scrawny little girl who didn’t know how to work her own limbs. She was alone, in a dark apartment watching the news when an owl swooped in through the window to deliver the Daily Prophet. The title read that the wizarding world had collapsed into darkness and mudbloods were now considered wanted. It was only a matter of time before they found her and killed her.
A blue light broke the scene of events in her mind, but she no longer had the strength to keep her eyes open. Another student must have cast it, or even a professor if any of them were still alive. But with that thought, a single tear ran down her cheek at the images of dead bodies all around her cluttered her mind. How could she have let this happen? She had practiced so many times in class and read so many books on it. She felt prepared going into battle and yet there she was next to Molly unable to move. She wished she could reach out to the red head and comfort her, but there just wasn’t enough life left in her body to do it. She was so tired, and the thought of crying herself to sleep seemed ideal. There she laid with eyes closed, skin pale and body seeming to be lifeless feeling the vibrations of feet run past her. There were no sounds though, just the slow beat of her heart keeping her awake yet dead.
