The Seeker’s personal storm

The seeker had slowly made her way out of the Glass Network Headquarters, she kept her hands in her pockets as she walked. The slow rhythmic downtrodden steps of the seeker had was all that could be heard as she walked down the path towards the on of the railings that overlooked the chasm that was below the Goblet. With that Lily had slowly leaned to rest her arms on the railing. Lily stood there for what had felt like an eternity thinking and rolling a Gil coin through her fingers... Thinking about everything that had happened in these past few moons. The internal review with Enambris... one of the many things that had caused her to slide down the slippery slope she seemed to be on. After being read out the things she had done... Some of the actions she wasn’t even consciously aware she had done. The lives lost because of the actions she had taken... those she cared about injured... The orders she disobeyed. It was just a raging storm in her head, one she had no idea how to calm. Normally she would drown herself in alcohol. Run from it... Hide from it... But she couldn’t. She had too many people who were worried about her and Lily didn’t want to let them down... Lily looked to her hand, still rolling the coin through her knuckles. The habit she recently picked up to keep herself distracted and hands busy when she wasn’t working. Though after a long few moments her hand began to shake as she flicked the coin off over the cliff. Tears quickly came to the seeker’s eyes as she dropped to her knees, the storm of emotion in her head getting the better of her. Without thinking she had moved quickly to slam her fist off the stone railing as she screamed out over the top of her lungs, over and over and over again with no signs of stopping. Each slam harder than the last as the railing seemed to crack bit by bit with each one until Lily had finally stopped. She sat there on her knees panting heavily, her knuckles bruised and a little bloody from her actions. She felt she deserved it... For the lives lost cause of her actions... Slowly Lily rose to her feet as she stared down at the Morpher on her wrist. Was she actually worthy of being a Ranger? She was supposed to protect people... not be part of the reason people died, not the reason people got hurt... Though Malika, Belladonna, Sento, Nenet... The rest of the Rangers all seem to think she did, even if she herself didn’t... Were they right? Even though all her failings, and faults... All the deaths she’s caused... Was she really worthy of being a Ranger after all of that...? She didn’t know the answer, nor would she... Not now anyways... Those questions all rushing around her head, all with seemingly with no answer... She had no idea what to do, besides to keep moving forward... She couldn’t bring back those who died... But she could move forward, living for them. Bettering herself so it didn’t happen again. So she could protect and save. She took her Oaths to become a Ranger, and through it all... She was going to uphold them... To walk the path she set out on when she donned the Morpher...
The path of... A Hero...
