Another unsung hero. Meet Coach Broderick Fobbs from Monroe, Louisiana. He’s currently the head football coach at Grambling State University. I remember when I was in middle school he was the star running back at Carrol High school in Monroe, Louisiana. He was amazing. No one could stop him. He went on to Grambling to be a standout there as well. In the fall of 2000 when I was a freshman at UL Lafayette he was a graduate assistant coach for the Ragin Cajuns. He was very humble and all the players respected him. One of the players got in some really bad trouble and he was waiting to find out what his verdict was gonna be. The next day Coach Fobbs came in the cafeteria while we were at dinner and he sat with us at the table. He told everyone to sit down and listen. He said “he guys I don’t judge anyone because I’m not perfect. But I will say to you that even if you are the best athlete on the field that doesn’t mean you will make it to the NFL. So you all should probably go to class, go to study hall, learn how to balance your checkbook, learn to pay your bills on time, learn to respect women, learn to respect yourself, learn to be responsible men.” Everyone said yes sir and thanks coach. He got up and left the table. He was a leader back then and he is still leading young men. I remember when he met his wife too. They were the perfect couple. Very kind people. Coach Fobbs I don’t know how to reach you or your wife but I just want to say thank you for talking to the table that day and always being a leader. #great #gramblingstateuniversity #monroe #louisiana #ullafayette #ragincajuns #live #life #love #amazing #leader https://www.instagram.com/p/Bnb8kC-HRrD/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=18jffknitpd68
