So... I've really been struggling with making backgrounds for my mod lately, and I kind of realized drawing completely from hand for every single one would NOT be possible. At the same time, I am also strongly against using any kind of generative AI, even if it wouldn't be something commercial. So instead I tried out using the Sims 4, with some shaders, as a kind of base(?) for a background, and tweaking it, drawing onto it etc... I'm not sure I'm 100% happy with the end result, but with only 4 hours of work its a whole lot easier than drawing completely from hand, especially for a personal project. (after and before below)
I'm definitely going to play around with it more to get it the way I want and likely will end up using just 'general shapes' rather than drawing completely on top of the old picture, but what do we think, success or...?
Hi hi so I’m curious to know, it’s no secret I’ve been teasing this a little, but how would the OLBA community feel about a mod that added a ‘step 5’ of sorts tailored toward the MC and Cove as Spouses/Fiances/Partners after a 2 year timeskip 🥺 from step 4.
This mod would specifically be made for those who want to be able to experience being able to adopt/have a kid with our silly husband/boyfriend (and also might have a route for those who don’t want kids. Adopting a puppy together anyone ?? 👀)
Obviously it’s still in the uh… “marinating in my notes” + “struggling with ren’py” stages right now, but would that be something people might be interested in?? If so I’d love to hear ideas/questions/concerns/wishes for what that could be like :3

[DOWNLOAD] Family Reactions Mod for when MC proposes to Cove in step 3!!
(Just some highlights, there's much more than just this obviously!)
After about two weeks of working on this silly little project, I've officially finished my first OLBA mod!!
With this mod, if you own the Step 3 DLC, if you propose to cove at the end of step 3, the ending sequence will be extended to include the MC's and Cove's families' reactions.
Originally, I intended this to also incorporate the MC and Cove's friends as a part of the engagement announcement, But I ended up feeling happy ending it off by just seeing the family's reactions. I might update this to include the option to call friends to tell them in the future, but for now the mod is finished!! DOWNLOAD LINK (Google Drive/Zipped file)

Worked on the mod a bit today. Over 700 lines of code added and we're only just now getting to the good stuff... 😅 I'm excited to start on everyone's real reactions to their engagement, hopefully we won't be going too out of character (I make no promises LOL)
