☆ Starting off with age ranges! Usually I see Mark regressing to 3-7, but this request does specify toddler regressor Mark! So we’ll knock him down to 2-5 instead hehe. I’ve literally never written for regressor Steinbeck- Goodness this is so exciting! I’m gonna place his headspace assss 4-9! Definitely a bigger kid like anon said, one of the older age ranges that I write for but it fits him I think! He’d be a sweet caring older brother, that also feeds off of Mark’s irresistible chaotic demon possessed toddler energy. Y’know how it is, these things happen

☆ They absolutely both have leashes of some kind. John is fine with just like. A backpack? Mark however needs a full on harness, he figures out how to slip out of those backpacks constantly. He also always has rocks on hand and he will try to cut through his leash if given the chance, he’s also open to chewing through it. Whenever Mark escapes John is happy to use his ability to pin the kiddo down! But he starts bargaining, saying he deserves a reward for helping out. If he’s denied a reward then both kids are on the loose, Mark forgets about the betrayal pretty quick and they work together!

☆ If little John and Mark are quiet it’s never a good thing. Something is going wrong. They’re either plotting and scheming, running away, or one of them is literally unconscious. Mark gets his crazy ideas and John is just like YES. WE’RE DOING THAT. And they’re usually not good ideas that the kids should NOT be doing under any circumstances. They will damage all property within sight, they will break things just to see if they can, and they will not care about any consequences. They need constant supervision

☆ Mark is absolutely fascinated by John’s ability, it’s so cool! He can control plants! Uhm. Anyone remember how John’s ability activates? That’s right! By planting a literal seed under his skin. Mark of course is monkey see monkey do. And he will scratch cut or bite his skin open and shove a seed into the open wound. He’s gotten infections too many times to count because he definitely doesn’t clean the seeds and he’s also not totally sure what is and what isn’t a seed? He just takes random stuff off the ground and tries planting them under his skin

☆ They do trust falls all the time! They almost never actually catch each other. They just use it as an excuse to jump off of high up surfaces and get the other one in trouble. For example Mark jumping from a second story window and when asked about it he says through sobs “Though’ John ‘s gonna ge’ me!” John meanwhile is throwing his own tantrum because he was given like 2 seconds of notice!!! And also where’s the fun in trust falls if you actually catch each other? He might get Mark’s cooties!

☆ Speaking of cooties. Mark refuses to use much agere gear. He doesn’t want a pacifier or a teether or a stuffed animal or a onesie. That stuffs cute and girly so it’s probably cootie infested! No thank you he can chew on rocks and he’s perfectly happy with his dinosaur figures. John shares a similar mindset but he’s at least a bit more open minded, he’s willing to use a teether if he really wants something in his mouth but his first go to is never going to be a teether, it’ll be literally anything else he can find

☆ They have a secret base! Not like a childish one that’s like super obvious. No it’s like really well hidden. Like they sneak into the walls or something idk. They’re like impossible to find when they go there. Eventually they’ll get found though and need to move because they leave snacks in there without cleaning up and the smell can get really bad… Eventually a caregiver is bound to find it. But like yeah they’ll sneak onto the roof if they’re given an opportunity. Don’t give them an opportunity

☆ John can start crying on command to get what he wants, Mark can’t and he’s incredibly jealous. They’ll both be on the ground throwing tantrums and John can muster up tears for his performance, Mark’s face is just bright red in the signature toddler fake tantrum face. John 100% teases him about it and will start crying to get Mark in trouble to prove a point. He loves pretending that Mark hurt him (Believable for a reason), and then from a caregivers loving arms sticking his tongue out at Mark, quite potentially flipping him off too
