Headcanons about Lillianโs sleep walking under the cut, because I know before I even start Iโm going to get long winded.
So, I have always had it in my head that Grim Witches FREQUENTLY dream about past bearers of the curse. Their souls past and present all connected through being chained to the demon. But, like, itโs about 1000000x worse for Lillian, previous incarnations Iโve written there were only maybe 20 witches max,itโs been a couple MILLENNIA since this all started. Her dreams are full of THOUSANDS of screaming damned women. Only stronger souls being able to even BEGIN to communicate with her.
She sleepwalks because the experience of making contact with them in her sleep is so visceral her body just REACTS. Sheโs most frequently plagued by Nyssa. Nyssa because she has the most in common personality wise with the first cursed.
However unlike stronger or more recent witches (ex: Wysteria or Mariposa) Nyssa canโt even begin to COMMUNICATE properly. She was arguably one of the weakest to be subjected tot he curse. She takes the form she did when posses screaming and bleeding from 6 eyes on her face. Itโs a bad, time and whatever warning sheโs trying to express is lost.
This strange astral connection plain fore souls of past and present is tinted violet and if wandered to any edge itโs an island surrounded by a large ravine of darkness. In which the eyes of the beast can be seen, any time Lillian has seen them it has snapped her awake.
She winds up all over the place when she sleep walks, her body naturally follows the direction she wanders on the violet plane. Sheโs frequently chasing after whatever spirit is trying to communicate with her. Wysteria is the ONLY witch left existing on that plane that can fully talk and communicate normally, yet, she is the RAREST sight for Lillian.
Whenever sheโs woken by someone else from her sleepwalking she looks at them confused as if they are not who she is expecting to see. This is of course because they ARENโT it takes her a moment to process she wasย ย โdreamingโ and sleepwalking again.
She has been harmed or even nearly gotten herself KILLED multiple times with this uncontrollable little habit. Itโs also not uncommon for her to simply wake up standing in a place sheโs never seen before.
This was one of the MANY reasons the Minor Cult of Grim kept her locked in a single room as a child. However, she still managed to hurt herself time and again just the same.
If found by someone outside the church or knights pre-timeskip she is very hesitant to explain why she was sleep walking or itโs normal. This is namely out of fear of being accused of troubling others with her darkness which sheโs been told the goddess has made HER burden. She doesnโt believe this however, she fears the church enough to hold it in heavy regard when considering what to say.
After the timeskip she is STILL reserved about who she shares it with, however, ti is more due to her lack of understanding of what's happening to her. Unlike previous incarnations the history of her kind is so damaged she has nothing to reference or look back at with accuracy to explain what is happening to her.
Out of past witches she fears Mariposa even more than Nyssa. Mariposa is a bit more able to communicate but, not fully clearly, however it is OBVIOUS the Ice Witch holds her in some negative regard for being weak. And for Lillian that hits her harder than spooky nonsensical screaming. Growing up into a cult will give you that sort of desensitization.
