i honestly don’t know why i like yoshida so much. imo he’s not well written. hes actually probably the worst written character in csm
the entire climax of his story makes no fucking sense. i can’t be led to believe that denji cared enough about him to turn into csm. you cant just say “oh actually they were friends but i didnt show any scenes of that earlier in the series but i will have yoshida say they were friends so i guess they are” idk thats objectively bad writing
there are things about his writing that i genuinely do enjoy—such as the denreze parallels (which i do think are intentional, even if you don’t see yoshida and denji as romantic interests for each other) and aki parallels. it is a bit telling that my favourite things about him are piggybacking off of other, better characters.
he’s very clearly a plot device and was only included in part 2 cause there needed to be a character that denji had any kind of connection to. i hate when i can tell a character was just included just because the story needs it. he’s fulfilling a role left behind because all the other eligible people fucking died
he frustrates me so much because i know he had the potential to be really well written but he was cursed with his character arc being placed in the latter half of part 2
anyways i love him so much and wish he would come back
